any dvd burner that burns dual layer dvds should work. the pioneer 111d/112d is one that a lot of folks on here like. i have an old nec that works just fine. just make sure you have updated to the latest firmware from the manufacturer, use good quality DVD+R DLs (aka...verbatim), and set the layerbreak in imgburn (i forget the exact number, just search for it and you'll find it..or just open up the .dvd file when ripping with XBC and it'll be there).

oh...and start by burning at 2.4x...if you want to increase to 4x later go for it, but at least have a baseline that works.

should i burn at 1X or is 2.4 the lowest?

is the 111D and the 112d the saem thing then? does it have that bit setter tihgn people talk about?

what does it do? do i need to put any settings to use it properly?

thanks

i've always burned at 2.4x and it's always worked. never had a bad burn using imgburn. here is an imgburn tutorial. this should take you through the steps you need (setting layerbreak, etc...) for the perfect burn.

the 112d is the "new" model from pioneer. the 111d is last years model, which works great too. i don't think the price differential is much, so it really doesn't matter.
