help pls.
i have a iso copy of a game i wish to burn. - check
i tried burning once using toast and the disc came up in my Xbox360 much like a DVD disc would saying "pleas insert this disc into an xbox360 console"
download X360 Hacker v2 and hacked and burnt the disc. same results.
took the raw ISO file (unhacked, backup copy) re-hacked it and tried burning it in toast. still..... same results.
is there a step im missing? i don't want to try too much more cause DL DVDs are not exactly the cheapest thing to replace.

maybe you are using a game from a different region code. I dont want to know on x360 iso hacker. i have it and may try it again but i have a coaster on my first try so i downloaded iburn360 and it hacked and burned both of my games no problems.

no it's a region free game (or at least labeled as) and i dont think i'd even get that type of screen even if it wasnt?
i'm tempting to try iburn360 and im tempted to throw it on my brother's PC and burn it off of there, but i dont need to keep burning useless discs

iburn is a mac app. I just switched to mac and had a lot of success using img burn on pc. my pc burner stopped burning DL disks so i came here looking for a way to burn on my imac. iburn worked for me first try and x360 iso hacker did not work first try. i am not saying its not any good just didnt work for me. i never could get toaster to work and i think its because of not being able to set the layer breaks. try iburn if it doesnt work then head over to pc if thats what you want to do. i would make sure you are using quality media also.

darkside6: Your ISO is not iXterem compatible, not patched well or your XBox has old FW!
Try check the file with DVDMulleter on XP.

unfortunately ive wasted 2 dvds on your program and on on the iburn360,
iburn360 crashed and your program seemed to copy fine, but at the very end brought up a error saying it failed to copy, and can not be verified :-( is this a bug? im using a macbook (black) with build in DVD+R+ DL writer

If the error is end of the verifying, I think it is not a big problem, because there are the 0s. Try to rip disk with Copy options, if it read without error and get a 7,838,760,960 Byte sized ISO, everything is OK.
Try it on XBox too.
If you get the same error try to use another DL media or burner.
I use this method more than 3 months without problem.

thanks dagowatt, from what you're saying its more a problem with my ISO (not hard to believe it was a dl) then my mac. my 360 is a new one we got for xmas and already installed dashboard updates (not sure if that included firmware as well).
maybe i'll just borrow someone's copy of A.C. and rip my own copy and go from there.

did you modify the firmware on your disk drive. if not you have to back up a few steps. That is step number one.

my personal testimony to backing up games:
have a mac intel processor. got some iso's and used parallel's to run imgburn. it worked but bogged my computer down horribly. used dagowatts program and couldn't be happier. make sure you are using VERBATIM DVD+R DL's. these are the only ones i use and have always worked as long as i have done the process right. the only problem i've encountered with dagowatt's program is that i can't copy games i already have on actual 360 disks. therefore i have to download their iso's and burn from there.
i have my box flashed with the newest firmware and have been playing on live since day one of modding my box.
playing halo 3 on live right now. so if you have the mac that the entire screen is the computer (you have the cd insert on the right hand side) you should be fine. i use the matashita drive which came with the computer.
hope that helps. thanks for all the great programs and this great afterdawn community.
.meatball out!!.

It's not ripping which is the problem, i acquired the iso online, and its meant to be working perfectly, its just for some crazy reason that it keep buggering up at the end. I tried the disk, one of them seemed to work fine, then halfway through a cut scene I am now getting the dirty disk errors even though it is clean :-(
I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL, the ones which are suggested for use, and using the built in DL drive on the new black macbook :-(

You must update your XBox DVD drive firmware. The problem is the new rip method: split video.

Does X360_ISO_Hacker work with the NME V2 modchip?

I think it must work with modchip. I coudn't test it, I don't know anybody who has one. I only tested it with different DVD drives (Benq, Hitachi, Samsung with different FWs). If you can, make a backup copy, test it and send me a report. THX

The safest and easiest way, in my opinion, is to have someone, who knows what they are doing, install a chip, like the NME v2. This is bit costy ( I paid ?150 for min), but is also the safest as the chip runs stealth, so you should be pretty safe from being banned from XBOX Live when playing your back ups.

i'd have to disagree. i got my box flashed about 6 months ago and have not gotten banned and have been playing backups since day one. the only problem is finding someone who knows how to flash your dvd drive. the only reason i chose this over a chip is cause if i happen to get the ring of death, i can just un flash my drive and send it back to M$. with the chip there is soldering involved and i'm pretty sure they wouldn't take that back. but to each his own
