Is there any news about the ps3 being cracked/unlocked?

I want to basically know when anyone thinks that the RAM or whatever else will be unlocked. I am asking for a certain reason. I know there are ps2 emulators for the pc, so I figured that there was an xbox emulator. If the RAM was unlocked, would it be possible to play it with say linux? Oh, I don't want to get flamed here, so if your going to rant about search google (I have) then please take you opinions else where.

I always wanted to know if you could play a PS2 Emulator on the PS3 running Linux?! Because I did have the 40GB PS3, and thought if that would work, then it would be pretty cool! But I got an 80GB so I'm good!

I think you can run the emulators but it plays poorly. The reason is because the GPU isn't used properly so although the PS3 has amazing graphical capabilities, they can't be used through linux.

linux cant do it well because sony didnt give it access. any news on it being unlocked?

apparently they've been able to crack the hypervisor but not enough to give us access o the gpu.

Hope we get somewhere soon. Momentarily PS3 is just little more than a large black brick i.e. lack of games.

Lack Of Games? See ya later. There are plenty of decent games out now for ps3, you just gotta go out a get 'em...
Anyway if the ps3 has no games, should you really care because there would be no decent backups in your view.
