I own a UK PAL PS3 and having returned from the US with blueray discs i find they dont work and the PS3 states that they are the wrong region?

am i just stupid or isn't it supposed to be region free.

I'm reading on forums that the PS3 was region free, but probably not for the Movies! Here is a link I saw:

So it looks like the games are region free, just not the movies! But I don't know for sure!

it appears some dvds will work and others wont.

does anyone know of anyway of making the ps3 region free?

searching on google it appears other peeps have had the same problem. some discs work and others say wrong region

The games are region free but alot of movies are region locked

if you do a search on google for

region free blu ray movies

or

bluray liesinc

they should be able to tell you whats region locked and whats not.

these saved a mate of mine from wasting money buying the die hard boxset from america
