what you say seems to be correct but when u download all the files u need will be in one folder. this folder can be directly copied into a game directory inside the PSP folder in ur memory stick.
Any one have any news on the release?

The only reason I'm asking and re-asking is because I really don't want to accidentally brick my new PSP.
3.71 OFW or 3.71 M33? If it's 3.71 OFW then you can't install 3.80 M33, you'll have to downgrade it first with a Pandora Battery, then you can install 3.80 M33.

unfortantly its not that simple if you are on 3.71 ofw you need to downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade to 3.51m33 then 3.71m33 then 3.80m33 and i have heard that instead of downloading the ofw eboot and m33 eboot you may be able to upgrade it via wifi.

unless he's on a slim then he can't downgrade to 1.50

Using UPMS Installer you can downgrade any OFW directly to 3.71m33-2 it takes about 5 minutes to downgrade, it works with both fat or slims, and I've done it with 3.80 OFW, works great. Thats the easiest way to use the Pandora to downgrade. Now, back to the subject, 3.80m33, has it been released yet? This day has been really slow...

the chances of DAX working for sony are slim but its easy to get a hold of the firmware as it is freely open to public. if DAX did work for sony somehow he would be comming out with CFWs about the same time the OFWs would be released

But if he does work for sony OFW FWs wouldn't be sold and they're UMDs wouldn't be sold either....

yeah I think it is :( After about 2hrs of searching I came across a forum post on neogaf.com and Dax said their never was a release date set and he has never had a release date set for any of his CFW. Apparently there is some testing left to do with pops loader.
So it sounds like its not to far off... fingers crossed

you can buy them off ebay or create one your self. You can use it to reflash your psp.

ok so I made one and now I have FW 3.71 m33. Thanks for all the help. Like I said when I first joined I am a programmer...does anyone know DaX's contact info. I would love to see the source code for a OFW and understand it better to start making my own CFWs. I am so happy I found you guys this place is my PSP heaven!
PS: give DaX a break. Programing takes time and paitence and tests. If I don't like one of my programs or if it is not up to par for the deadline I don't release it at all. Plus to all you non believers even if a PSP-2 comes out it willnot be hack proof... the PSP will still run on software and aslong as sony wants to update it there will always be a way to "trick" the PSP into thinking you're update is a Sony update...nothing is impossible!

there really is no direct contact for DAX, and I can guarantee he will not give his source. In fact there was a leak of his code that almost ruined it for everyone. Many believe that it was the leaking of the DAX code that prompted sony to change the nids.
Is still is pretty much impossible to fake an update, as it is digitally signed and encrypted. you can pull it apart, you can manipulate it, but you can't recompile it with the right digital signature.
They may decide that they would rather throw systems away, than leave a back door in.
ps, your best bet at talking to people that know m33 is to go to the IRC channel listed on dark-alex.org don't expect to talk to anyone directly they wouldn't waste their time there, but there are plenty of coders, and people who know people there. I was just in there last night and found the coder freeplay chatting, presumably killing time waiting for m33 to release (nope still not out yet)
if you want to code for psp, all you need is c++, and the sdk and toolchain, both can be found on google.

just found out helldax has quit the scene, couldn't take all the sh*t, being call a dax wannabe, being accused of stealing dax's code, and producing firmware that lacked in stability and features. His site has his retirement note up saying he will only make fw for his 'inside friends' F him, his FW sucked, and it was a DAX rip off. If he wanted to be a FW legend, he should have come up with some original ideas, like DAX's iso loader, and multi disc pops support. At least DAX has something to put his own name on with a clean conscience!

I have read somewhere in this forum that one of the HX CFW's can't actually tell which is it....doesn'thave a recovery menu..=\

You're exactly the kind of person the PSP scene never wants to see.
You can't ever knock someone's efforts unless you can do better, which i really don't think you can... HX filled in a gap, and made firmware which worked fine. So what if he just modified DaX's coding, he admitted that; he even said himself he'd only altered a few "minor" things. He was never a DaX wannabe, nor was he looking to be a "firmware legend". Plus his name is HellDashX, not helldax -.-
You probably don't know anything about him, or his past projects, you're just quick off the mark to shout "This isn't Dark AleX, no-one can ever be as good as him, let's pray to DaX"
You know that's the kind of thing he hates to see? You're the kind of reason he left the scene before...

I haven't update to 3.80m33 cuz when I found out It was released i was at work(still am), I read something about FLV or something, does it have support to FLV format? That would be nice, that way I wouldn't have to waste time converting. Let me know if anyone hae check this out or have any info on this.
