ps3 video file problem

this is my first post sorry if i have put it in the wrong place. Since the new ps3 update i was told it now supported divx files. i have tried to transfer some movies onto my ps3 but half of them say unsupported data and wont start. I read somewhere that it has something to do with the matrix codec being set on custom but am not to sure if this is true. If it is true could someone please explain to me how to view detailed information about a video file saved on my computer.

as you can see above im very confused any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just use TVersity
and stream it to your PS3 from your PC
it will convert it as it plays

thankyou very much for the tip. i didnt get on well with the other program so i tried nero mediahome and it works great.

you saved me a lot of hours of pulling my hair out
