After reading posts on here, i understand that the HDD in my UK 40GB PS3 can be upgraded to a larger 2.5" SATA drive. I am very interested in doing this, as it eould allow me to watch HD video files from my PC on my HDTV via my PS3. However i have a few questions before i go out and buy a new HDD.
Firstly, before i go opening up my PS3, how easy is it to connect a new, bigger HDD to the system? is it simply a case of unplugging the old one and putting my new one in?
Also, what is the best way of transfering the system files (the XMB etc) from my old 40GB HDD to my new one?
Sorry for all the questions, but i want to ensure i do this right to avoid breaking my shiney new PS3.
I have found a few links on how to do this on GOOGLE,i recomend not putting any 2.5" into your PS3,make sure it matches your PS3s harddrive speed of 5400RPM.The links also provide details of the harddrives that they advise.

- If you search the PS3 manual you'll find detailed instructions.
- You can just add an external HDD 500gb with cost less than 90euros,Seagate or western digital.
