I am trying to rip some backup copies of some dvd's. I must include that I have had success in the past with other dvd's from the same box set.

The first problem is one of the dvd's gets an error 2/3 of the way through the intial analysis stage in dvd shrink. I have tried rebooting, cleaning the dvd, but it keeps getting stopped in the same spot. Has this happened to any one?

The second problem is, I am able to ripp the dvd to my hard drive with very little compression, but the files from chapters 20 to the end are pixelated. (DVD shrink also will not allow me to edit via start end with this disc.) Is this a common problem? Please help.

HI spetra, If you are trying to copy a copy, all you need is to use any disc copy feature as in Nero, Roxio, or Recordnow. Most copies are already decrypted and are on the proper size disc for direct copy to another blank disc. If you are still trying to edit the copy, you need to use the re-author window of shrink after it is 1st opened.
Hope I read your post right. The one that stops 2/3 through may be defective media or file was damaged when copied. The copy that is pixelated may be over compressed when 1st copied. I don't think you can correct this by editing unless you have the original. Jerry

These are not copies, they are original discs.

Sorry spetra, I did mis-read then. So you are ripping an original dvd to HD and are having problems with pixelation off the HD read. Thats a new one to me. When I had some problems with Shrink, One of the Senior members suggested trying CloneDVD working with Anydvd in backgroung. Anydvd decrypts, while CloneDVD does everything else. Both have trial versions to try. I use these almost all the time now. You might want to try them. Guides can be found on this forum for both. They might correct your problems. Jerry
