hi im trying to connect my ps3 to windows media player for media sharing, this can be done using windows media player 11, know i have done this successfully using the main computer which runs windows vista however i cannot connect it using my computer running windows xp, any suggestions?

NB windows vista comp uses bullguard, windows xp comp uses norton. and this is done via wireless network

I use TVersity myself cause I found that WMP11 crashes a lot. Anyway, your saying that when you scan for media servers its not finding WMP11??
All I can suggest is turning off the firewall momentarily to see if it will connect with the firewall off. You shouldn't really have to do this because WMP11 is already provisioned in your Windows firewall.
But hey you have to eliminate every possible cause of your issue.

no the computer running windows xp cant see the ps3, while the computer runnin vista can.

I just connected my windows xp computer to my PS3 tonight using WMP11,im using an ethernet cable,try going into the WMP11 settings and selecting library then configure sharing and if youve done it correctly your PC should see your PS3.Thats the way i did it.
