I would rather you not copy it if you can't wrap your head around the concept of how to charge a Pandora Battery.

you need to start the psp up with a charger, then plug in the battery,
you can then either turn off the psp or let it charge while its on:)

Cool guide. It allowed me to create the magic disc abd change the state of the battery on my OE FAT.

Quote:
Now use the Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery on the PSP that needs to be unbricked or Custom Firmware installed to.

After the custom firmware is installed take out the Battery and plug the PSP in via AC Adapter and turn the PSP on (without the Battery inserted).

After the PSP boots to XMB place the Battery into the PSP and go to Game Menu Memory Stick and select OS Pandora Battery Tool.

You will get a warning screen just press X to get to the Main Menu. When the Main Menu comes up go to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin"
OK, so help me confirm if I did it correctly, cause it appears to be working bu not as to instructions. I had to go back to my FAT to flash battery at the end. The only thing I forgot, but it wasn't specified, was to mount the GTA LCS v2.00 in UMD drive while installing to 3.71/M33.

I moved the magic disc and battery to SLIM, and of corse as soon as I planted the battery, the unbricking menue came up. So I chose to flash to cfw v3.71/m33 and it did it's thing and I pressed X and it shut down, Normal so far.

But on removing the battery and plugging in A/C, I then powered on w/o battery and it didnt go to any kind of XMB menue. I put the battery in but now I get en error after pressing X to run the OS Pandora Battery Tool and it shuts down.

So I put the battery in my FAT (was cfw 3.52/M33) and now it crashed prompting for the recovery unbrick menue. So I figured I have to flash it to to 3.71, so I did.

I was able press X to get to the Main Menu. When the Main Menu comes up go to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin" It worked.

So now my slim is what feels to be working but was this normal? I cant run the battery tool from the slim. The slim is working on its own slim battery.

I dont see any clear instructions. It keeps saying some files needed are missing and hangs till I cancel. Is it x64 compatable? I can drop files onto card and run, but still says psp 390 not found. And just be clear, I can move from cfw 3.71/M33-2 cfw directly to 3.90-M33-2 or do I need to be at 3.71-M33-4 then to 3.90-M33 before 3.90M33-2?

I figured out most of the issues by now, Thanx guys.

But again, on my FAT on 3.90-M33-2, do I need to add 1.5, and for what exactly?

One more ?. If after I'm done for the moment (till the next flash) can I reuse the magic stick for the 3.90 easy installer (I have the magic stick origion Rar download files backed up on PC)? Is this something I can easily creat with any CFW capable PSP? Is my origional FAT battery still modded even after not in service mode or is it only for the one time? Just wanna' make sure I dont give it away if I need to keep. Or can this too, just be made again when needed? Like say I by a brand new PSP FAT battery tomorrow?

Just wondering!

It will be whatever firmware you chose in the XMB flash menue. I chose 3.71/M33-2 so that's what I got, but I think you can go back to 1.5 origional and of corse 3.71 oficial if you selected to do so.

EDIT: on 03-12-08, I got it now. I ended up doing it manually but learned how the easy installer worked afterall for next time. The Universial unbricker and 3.52. The 3.90 Easy installer never workd on it's own, I had to use manual but the one included in Unbricker did eventually work.

Sounds good. I downloaded and extracted but no clear instructions on how to run.

Nevertheless, I just ran from where extracted on my PC and had PSP slim w/ cfw v3.71/M33 docked in USB mode as drive Y. After selecting slim and drive Y it says it's "Checking Files, then below, "some files needed for this installer doesnt exist"

What am I doing wrong? I even move over to my XP MCE SP2 x86 just in case., still the same thing.

I then copied the to items in "files" folder contents into PSP/GAME/ and still nothing. EDIT:. Now It looks like I can run it from the PSP console and it varified and came back OK, So Now I will go try next (03-09-08)

Is there an easy installer or can I just use my unbricker to go back to 1.5 and then up if it's less hastle?

Hey guys. I have a slim psp that I installed 3.71 m33 on. I later shoved the pandora battery in and hit some buttons and then turned it back off(I know.....I'm a moron) and I bricked it. Now when I try to use this program it stops at "formatting flash 1" and never finishes. You can probablly imagine how down I have been for the last 2 weeks. I have tried other unbricking programs but have had no luck. Can anyone help me? I have to be able to create the magic memory with windows XP cause I dont have access to a homebrew psp. Thanks :)

Is the file missing just simply the Sony official renamed to 390.PBP? Do I just drop it into the same UPDATE folder with Eboot.PBP? And I see something ablout manual installing but keeps mentioning something about 3.80 kernal and "Copy the 380.PBP to the directory; X:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/ on your PSP?s memory stick."

What 380.PBP? I am on cutsom firmware version 3.71/M33-2. I dont have 3.80 yet.
If you follow this guide properly you can install 3.90 M33 by selecting it in MUX 2.0

I realized I was selecting 3.90M33-2 before 390M33 in Mux. Please know that it is way too easy to miss the M33-2 v/s no -2 just M33.

No prob, I dropped the ("files" content) myself in the GAME/UPDATE folder and ran it manually like I guessed, and it worked.

Also, people were telling me I had to move to 3.80cfw then on to 3.90/M33 cfw. I went directly to 3.90 using the sony official (it was the file named 390.PBP like I thought)

So in the end of lots of bouncing all over the web to confirm, I'm up and running 3.90-M33 cfw.

ThanX! It kept me in the right direction.

Well, that's just the thing, I did follow what as here. And it left out the part about "must have the Sony official" fw 3.90. The 3.90 Easy installer you guys provided in link ended up working but again, not in windows mode, kwpt saying files not found.

No prob, I dropped the ("files" content) myself in the GAME/UPDATE folder and ran it manually like I guessed, and it worked.

As I said if you would have followed the guide properly you would have had all necessary files to update from 3.71 M33-2 to 3.90 M33. Just making this clear so others don't get confused with whatever issue you have had.

When I download these files, both from Mediafire and from the mirror, my virus scanner finds a trojan in the executable. I use AVG virus scanner.

I also got the warning from AVG when i downloaded and tried opening. I used both download sources and disabled AVG but when i click start.exe windows gives me this error "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." Is there any step i'm missing in the beggining.

I believe once the file has been flagged as dangerous, Windows will not let you run it without administrative permission etc.
