Watch the language - keep it clean. Post edited.
You need to reduce the size of the sig too - max is 50kb and max height is 100px when using text.
A senior member should know this :)

hi, i have used ur universal unbricker to unbrick a fat psp, but while i was playing on my psp, it said there was an internal error and then my psp got bricked once again. I tried using ur universal unbricker again to unbrick it as it did once before but it does not work. I get the screen where it asks u to press x for this and press o for that but when i press "x" or "o" and it shows, "Formatting flash0...", it just freezes right there and i dont get the okay for it or anything. I've tried it many times, remade the magic memory stick, used a different memory stick, and even pressed square and L+R+start+home but nothing seems to be working. Please tell me there is a way to fix this. And thank u for ur time. u can either answer me on my profile, or right here on urs.

o and one more thing, if the nand is the problem, is it possible to copy the nand from another psp and then use that to recover the bricked one?

If it works on a FAT it should work on a SLIM. Make sure your select option 4 at the instillation menu when using the easy installer.

When inserting the MS and Battery do the WiFi and MS leds blink? If so after the WiFi and MS leds stop blinking press X. If the WiFi and MS Leds start flashing again let them flash till they are finished the PSP should shut down. After that try starting the PSP via normal battery. This is called a blind install but it shouldn't have to be performed if your selecting option 4 on the easy installer.

Choose 3.90 M33 first in MUX and install. Then install 3.90 M33-2.

Download the update. Place it in the /PSP/GAME folder then run the update from XMB:Game Menu Memory Stick

Hey All,

Done reading through the entire thread and about to start. Thanks for the hint about the C: directory (I had a different easy installer I was trying and that was the problem). Larry, wanted to thank you for all the time you put into this.

My story : Had a 2.60 Ta-082 Fat that I upgraded to 3.90 m33-4 yesterday. Then last night since I was feeling so high and mighty with my n00b hacking prowess, decided to try and install a custom theme. Then when there was insufficient disk space, I deleted the 'podule' folder. Awesome, huh? Here's to hoping this will get me back to where I was. Before my old PSP (3.03-oe-a) got stolen, I enjoyed playing the emulators on my plane trips. I'll keep updated and make sure to reread/use the search function before asking questions.

d

[Edit 1 - 3 PM] - So, I believe I did the first part without problems (making the magic mem stick). However, I guess I need to actually have a non-semi-bricked PSP in order to make the battery? From another of your guides (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/607654), I tried copying the "recovery" folder into psp/game and then selecting "Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PSP" but in doing so, I receive an error code "Error: 0x800200D2 loading\starting baster.prx."

Do I need a second PSP on which I should redo creating the magic mem stick as well as creating the pandoras battery? Or can I still do it all on my semi-bricked. Apologies if it's a stupid question. Thanks.

[Edit 2 : 3:20PM] Crap. I think my googling has led me to believe I do need two. Anyone live near New Haven and has either a PSP we could use and/or a Pandora Battery/Magic Mem Stick?

The files will now be installed to the Memory Stick.

After it has finished writing the files you will get an image similar to below. Just type Y and ENTER to finish the instillation of files to the Magic memory Stick.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h141/larrylje/writeboot.jpg

during this step i dont get that message in the image that asks me to push yes to continue i get another that says the people who created the program and then it closes after i push a button
I put my friends Pandora Battery and Magic mem stick in my psp the pandora menu didn't show up and now the psp wont boot at all so im trying to use this to unbrick it but the mem stick i originally used for this is having the same problem as the guy i quoted.

EDIT: I was able to fix. i unbricked it but my regular battery wont boot. should i plug in to the charger?(ill look now)

I've been reading a bunch of different stickies and such for the past 4 hours and I am stuck. I followed these instructions and created the memory stick and pandoras battery off a PSP phat with 3.71 M33-4 that I had bought. I also have a new PSP 3.71 slim I am trying to upgrade to custom firmware but I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I put in the magic memory stick into the PSP Slim 3.71 then pandoras battery and nothing shows up on the screen. The green power light comes on and thats it. I read that I am not supposed to see anything and I should just hit x and it will install the necessary files, then run the mux program to install the updated firmware. I think I am missing a really big step somewhere. I am getting really frustrated can someone please help :(

You do not have to hold the L trigger button down as last user instructed.

Plus the blind install you are referring to no longer is an issue since the easy installer was updated with video support on SLIM PSP's.

The issue is more then likely that the Magic Memory Stick was not properly made. Reasons for this are Incompatible Memory Stick/Vista

Try using a different Memory Stick and or Windows XP (WinXP 64-BIT also has issues as Vista does).

Fantastic work guys! I'm a total n00b here (1st post!!)

A while back I got a Fat PSP - that I managed to get custom FW due to the lumines hack. Since then I created a Pandora battery/memstick using the original method. A friend tried it and it works.

Now I'm thinking of getting a PSP Slim as well, and was wondering if I can use my existing Fat pandora battery? I'm pretty positive I need to generate a new memstick for the slim, but it would be great if I can keep using my "original" battery..

I apologize if this has been answered, but I did not see a clear conclusion on such a scenario in the OP. I read a couple of pages as well, but this is a long thread!

Thanks!!!
