Just a few words I wanted to add here and will be adding in the guide.

I have no issue with users adding this guide to another forum as long as I get credit for the creation of the guide and the authors of the applications that are used in the guide are credited as well.

It has come to my attention that a user has copied this guide and added a donation for support link to it. I don't understand how this user or anyone else gets off asking for donations on a guide they did not participate in creating or updating and had no participate in creating of any of the applications used in the guide.

This guide was intended to help others and at no time have I ever asked or accepted any type of donations for it. As well I would expect anyone that wants to add this guide to another forum follow the same guidelines.

If I find this guide or any of my other guides added to another forum and a donation link is added to it I will report the thread to a MOD and request that the guide be deleted and the member be suspended or banned.

Did a small update to the guide.

I Added 3.90 M33-3 to MUX. All you have to do is go stright to 3.90 M33-3 no need to install 3.90 M33 first.

I also added 3.95 GEN which is a new CFW created by another team. Don't ask which is better M33 or GEN just try GEN. If you don't like it then you can always change back to M33.

I do have a question myself if someone can answer I would appreciate it. Can 3.80 M33-5 be installed the same as 3.90 M33-3?

As in add 380.PBP to the 3.80 M33-5 update or do you have to install the core 3.80 M33 version first.

Are you speaking of becauuse most new SLIMs cant run the utility or even in the early models that can Pandorize a FAT battery?

Can the SLIM battery power the FAT so if we nipped off the tab ket to fit in slot, can we pandorize it then? Just curious if anybody has tried this yet.

i know of the two ta-085 motherboards, as i have the original 3.60 slim.

but flashing a slim battery, in general, is not possible; i think the battery creator cannot flash it into service mode. hardmodding is still possible.

Cory's OS Pandora Battery Tool can flash some SLIM Batteries. The latest SLIM PSP's that have been released have blocked this so not all can be flashed to a tool battery.

Also to answer NuckNFuts question I have read that others have clipped the TAB off a SLIM Pandora battery to use in a FAT PSP and it worked.

you'd think, after sony released flash pandora-proof 1800mAh batteries and discontinuing the fats, they would flash proof the slim batteries. they went a step backwards.

although i won't do it to my slim 1200mAh, curiosity, which tabs are you suppose to clip off?

just the little plastic keyed tab that keeps it from fitting into a FAT. Look as you try to seat a SLIM BAT into a FAT. The little tab on back edge keeps it from allighning up correctly. It's just a piece of the plastic casing and can be snipped off w/ wire cutters or mabe sliced off w/ rasor blade.

Im a noob, but managed to figure out a problem i was having

under the "PANDORA GUIDE: THOSE THAT HAVE 1.50 FIRMWARE PSP " section, i was having trouble understanding and getting these steps to work:

Now use the Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery on the PSP that needs to be unbricked or Custom Firmware installed to.

After the custom firmware is installed take out the Battery and plug the PSP in via AC Adapter and turn the PSP on (without the Battery inserted).

After the PSP boots to XMB place the Battery into the PSP and go to Game Menu Memory Stick and select OS Pandora Battery Tool.

as i was giving up, i unplugged my PSP from the AC adapter and rebooted it on battery power alone to check if it would boot. It did, and the program finally loaded and i was on my way to getting on ver 3.7.

Long story short, if youre having trouble with the pandora battery section, fiddle around with whether or not you have the PSP plugged in or not :D

BTW i answered my own question when i used my only battery and only memory card to update my PSP and was able to un-pandora-ize my battery back to its normal state

Hi,

Great thread. But can anyone answer this. I've bricked my PSP and I've got my mates PSP which is on 3.71 official FW. I've managed to borrow another psp so i can make the Magic MS and Pandora's battery but when i've read the instructions it says that when 3.71m33 is loaded you then change the battery back to normal. Is this all in one program or will I be able to make the MS/Pandora..unbrick my device...AND then use them to convert my mates offical 3.71 to 3.71m33???? I'm a bit of a noob and I want to know how and in which PSP I should change the battery back to normal through the eeprom/thing???? Can i just unbrick my device and remove the ms/and battery and use them on my mates PSP before putting the battery back in my psp and reverting it to normal??? bit confused

PANDORA GUIDE: THOSE THAT HAVE CUSTOM FIRMWARE PSP

Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery Tool. Press X at warning screen to get to Main Menu.

Select "backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin"

After the eeprom is backed up go to "convert to service mode"

Go to Quit Now after the Battery has been converted and it will exit to XMB.

Turn off the PSP and take out the Battery.

You will get a warning screen just press X to get to the Main Menu. When the Main Menu comes up go to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin"

Go to Quit Now and it will exit to the XMB. Now turn off the PSP and unplug it from AC Adapter. Now Take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery replacing the battery cover and use as normal now.

Ok, I am trying to install the custom firmware on a friend's psp by using a pandora battery and magic mem stick created on my already custom firmwared psp. I have gotten to the step where I place the magic mem stick in to the other psp(without custom fw) and then turn it on with only the AC power and no battery and when I get to the step where I go to the memory and open the OS tool it doesn't open at all and gives me this error "the game could not be started (80020148)" is there something I may be doing wrong or is there a way to fix this?

you're not suppost to use the AC only; that's if you're going to reflash the battery to normal again. it clearly says it in the guide:

Quote:
AFTER the custom firmware is installed take out the Battery and plug the PSP in via AC Adapter and turn the PSP on (without the Battery inserted).
use the battery, then plug in the AC plug so that the battery won't be drained.

Alright so I've gone through all these steps and.. Now the battery in my friend's psp won't work properly. Here's the kinds of problems his psp is experiencing(my psp does this when I put his battery in it.)
The only way to get the psp on to the xmb is to plug in the AC first and then turn it on then insert battery(similar to that step in the guide.) And everytime we turn off the psp or put it in sleep it stays off and won't turn on unless we do the AC only step again.. *sigh.* This is difficult stuff! Any way to fix this, or is there something I am missing here? Thanks a lot btw to those who helped me last time.

do the batteries turn on the psp automatically? if they do, then both are pandora's battery.

otherwise, they're just drained, and need charging.

Only one battery turns on the psp automatically(the one I have in my friend's psp) yes it does turn it on to where the green light shows but it doesn't do anything not even show the backlight. And when we check the battery level it says it's charged. ): I think I screwed up somewhere..
