if pandora's battery is working, but only has the power led on, then the mms isn't made correctly. recreate it and try it on your friend's psp again.

you only need to do the first part (mms part)

and make sure you're using winXP. vista has problems running the creator.

lol I didn't understand it at first looks like you will need another psp that is working with custom firmware but in this guide it says you can use the battery normal..(its in the last sentence in the guide) DOES THAT MEAN THAT THE BATTERY WHICH WAS CONVERTED INTO PANDORA WILL BE TURNED INTO NORMAL AGAIN?

you'll need anthr cfw'd psp for running the progs in GAME section when u@ the MMS part. and... for.. make a pandora w/ e battery tool. the cfw is needed bcoz ofw cant execute those progs.
Yes, pandora can be unpandorized.
from this tut... u use the flash backup to flash it back again to the pandorized bat(which I fail at so I use the hardmod way).
In hardmod.. u can unpandorized your bat... using 'just' a simple pencil! (that's what I did..)

I don't understand why this doesn't just get edited into the first few steps of the tread. But I find on several SLIMs, that no matter what battery or kernal mode or what have you, after unbricking, the newer SLIMs cannot run the tool needed to un-pandora-ize your battery. This appliesd to using a FAT to make pandora battery and needed to revert it back to service mode as well. Again, not sure why it is not included in most of the guides I read.

also the line I was talking about in the guide...

"Go to Quit Now and it will exit to the XMB. Now turn off the PSP and unplug it from AC Adapter. Now Take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery replacing the battery cover and use as normal now."

it says take out the batt(pandora) den re-insert the batt(pandora) and use as normal now.>>>>>>DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE PANDORA IS NORMAL NOW??

From this "softmod pandora" tut...Yup the pandora bat should be a normal bat. Just pay attention to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin" part. Bcoz it's the part where u convert your pandora bat back to normal bat by flashing back its flash backup that you already did in the previous part.

And about the "pencil" thing is... You use it to convert your "harmoded pandora". But I combined the MMS creation tut in here w/ the use of Harmoded Pandora.

I create MMS using this tut, but I make my pandora using harmod.. not softmod like in this tut.

Works fine to me after 2 nights living w/o mah psp.... lol...

This isn't rocket science. Just read the guide and follow the steps I have given.

Use the guide to create the Magic Memory Stick and convert the Battery to a Pandora Battery (if you have access to a custom firmware PSP). After you have created both of those place the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery into your bricked PSP to recover it.

After you have recovered it you can then use the backup EEPROM (created if you followed the guide) to convert the Battery from a Pandora Battery back to normal again.

Why is that so hard to understand?

No, not that hard but but could have been more detailed such as NOT x64 (64 bit) OS compliant or the fact that some SLIMs cannot run the battery tool to either enable or revert the Pandora Battery even if on CFW or not. So that the aid of a FAT on CFW was a "must", not option to return the battery back to normal service mode.

Those are the only bugs I found in the many guides like this. Other then that, it worked to a degree. I just had to copy extracted items to formatted memory stick manually and use a FAT to run the tool.

That's what worked for me on a modern x64 XP system and newer SLIM.

So NO, it's not rocket science, but witholding that important bit of info leaves plenty room for questions by puzzled users.

"My Two Cents"

"My Two Cents"
Not all x64 OS systems have issues running the installer. Plus a very low percent of users have a non-compliant PSP SLIM that blocks the SLIM from patching the battery.

This guide is a basic guide on how to create the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery. I made it as simple as it can be and the guide works perfectly fine for most users that use it.

The above information you claim I am withholding is discussed multiple times through this thread. I feel that adding to much extra information to the guide itself will only confuse newbies more. So I leave that info out of the guide since a low percentage of users actually are effected by it.

Those that are effected by the issues will find solutions in past post multiple times through this thread. So the information is out there.

My previous post might have been a little harsh but time and time again users say that they don't understand the guide and need it explained to them in simpler terms. How much easier can it be explained?

Example:

Quote:
also the thingy for unpandorizing a pandora battery, what do you mean about flash backup thingy?also, is it in this guide/thread-the guide for unpandorizing....PS If it is, den is it located in the btm section of the guide? it says you can use normal something again....
Guide says:

"Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run OS Pandora Battery Tool. Press X at warning screen to get to Main Menu.

Select "backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin"

After the eeprom is backed up go to "convert to service mode"

Go to Quit Now after the Battery has been converted and it will exit to XMB.

Turn off the PSP and take out the Battery.

Now use the Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery on the PSP that needs to be unbricked or Custom Firmware installed to.

After the custom firmware is installed take out the Battery and plug the PSP in via AC Adapter and turn the PSP on (without the Battery inserted).

After the PSP boots to XMB place the Battery into the PSP and go to Game Menu Memory Stick and select OS Pandora Battery Tool.

You will get a warning screen just press X to get to the Main Menu. When the Main Menu comes up go to "flash only serial from mso:/eeprom.bin"

Quote:
(it says take out the batt(pandora) den re-insert the batt(pandora) and use as normal now.>>>>>>DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE PANDORA IS NORMAL NOW??
Guide says...

"Go to Quit Now and it will exit to the XMB. Now turn off the PSP and unplug it from AC Adapter. Now Take out the Battery then re-insert the Battery replacing the battery cover and use as normal now."

How more clear does the guide need to be?

If you feel you can explain it better and think I am withholding important information then feel free to create your own guide.

I know allot are newbies but that isn't an excuse. If this is to complicated for them then maybe they shouldn't be attempting it. Do more research and learn the do's and dont's when modding a PSP with CFW before actually doing it.

@larrylje

Yup... I agreed w/ u...
Your Tutorial is clear enough or me.. I'm also a real noobz that just found mah psp slim got bricked few days ago.
N Thx God I found this tut. It's easy to do... I have troble in some part.. but I think its just a matter of ways... so I try another alternative like doing the hardmod way. And my problem then..solved.

But guys... before you do the tut.. you better do some research thruout the internet... (I did.. bcoz I do realize i'm a real noobz.. so it's wise to be sure of what I will do to my one dead luvly psp) Look for bricked psp tips n tricks to compare and to gather lil by lil knowledge... to make you understand such simple thing.

And finally... I Unbricked my psp! And start to understand how this tut works...

Yup right its not rocket science. larrylje write just exactly the way.. as is... to unbrick your psp.

peace yo....

Your being ignored because this has come up numerous times in previous post. Read them to find the solution.
