Update
Game freezes after the following:
Completing first level of Subspace
Completing classic mode (after credits roll)
The game freezes shortly after a white screen with green text comes off. The only word I can read is "off" I would assume this is the do not turn off the wii while saving screen, but after leaving it on for 15 minutes, nothing happened.

Okay, so what is the difference between the azumi one and the dairontou one? I've seen comments that say the dairontou doesn't play single player subspace emissary but the azumi one does. anyone know?

The game freezing after beating classic mode, does it at least save your progress for beating it and let you fight a secret character? I know you said the SSE freezes after beating a level, but have you tried just skipping the cutscenes? I suppose if my Wii settings won't be affected, it'd just make more sense to update completely.

I'm thinking I'm just going to update completely. If you do the 15%, there's a chance you may not have dual layer support enabled for when the actual game comes around, since you didn't finish the update. I can move a few duplicate channels out of my way and live...

Quick question:
Say you have a single layer copy of Smash (burned), and you used it to update your Wii to read dual layer. Would the Wiikey then work with an imported copy of Brawl (dual layer)? Or do I still have to wait for the Wiikey team's update to pay for my legally obtained copy of Brawl?
Is PSX still covering Wiikey updates? This quote troubles me (Wikipedia), and this attitudes troubles me:
"On February 3, 2008, a single layer version of Super Smash Brothers Brawl was released, which solved the problem that the Wiikey had with running the game."
The single layer version of the game isn't fully functional, the Wiikey can't handle the dual layerness.
Also: you morons in this thread who are pirating the game and then asking several questions are pathetic. Do your damn research, you are getting everything hand fed to you. I am absolutely amazed you managed to solder a mod chip into your Wii without severing you hand.

Hey wassup guys, i never post on this stuff just read but i really need some help here. got a couple of questions and will appreicate it if u guys could help me answer them.
1. Ok so i just got a premium accont on Rapidshare just for brawl (lol), and now i was wondering what i would search in google or w/e to get a link to the Brawl file on Rapidshare? I am very new to this rapisshare stuff so can u plz exaplin to me like im a rapidshare dummy, thx(=.
2. I just got a wiikey installed today and have had all the updates for the system, i have a version 3.1 firmware so i was wondering if i have to do all that crap everyone else is doing and having trouble with to prevent a partial brick?, thx (=.

As far as I know it's unavoidable, I believe it freezes at the save screen. Maybe it has something to do with a NTSC-J save on a NTSC-U Wii? Could very well be it if someone else can confirm.
I've also met the conditions to fight the secret characters but the save screen comes up right after the credits roll, so I don't think I'll have a chance too.
I will try the two following
Ness Play five matches OR Reflect ten projecticles OR meet Ness in SSE.
Snake Play 10 matches on Shadow Moses Island.
Lucario Defeat in SSE with Meta Knight or Complete 5 Target Tests with any character
And maybe
Falco Beat 100-man brawl or play 300 v.s. matches which looks pretty time consuming.

It's not a save file incompatibility issue, as I played the JPN version of No More Heroes on my NTSC Wii, and had no problems. Also, is there any benefit at all in patching the ISO file to NTSC, or will that actually cause problems, like I've heard (I don't see why it would). What did you guys do?

i just got it from rapidshare. i have a us wii with wiikey 1.9g working and regionoveride enabled. brawl starts the update and then just says update failed like a quarter of the way through. any tips???? i pal news and japanese news and weather channel.

Ok, so I tried unlocking Snake and ended up unlocking Marth and Ness instead. There's only one Metal Gear level so I assumed that was Shadow Moses island. But anyhow, I unlocked those two, reset the game and turns out they were saved on. Hope that helps.

I kept playing the Metal Gear level (not sure if that's shadow moses anymore) for a while. I'd say 10+ times, Marth challenged me. I didn't use all the characters but I'd say I used a great majority of them. I don't think it was character specific, because I didn't use Ike at all.

I found the Azumi link at Tgbus. So I download the link right there that says
18P2P_FDZone[1]. ORG-Azumi + (Wii)[080131] Super Smash Bros X JAP.torrent
I have it but I dont have the right program to download it. I'm very very new to torrents so I know this is a serious noob question. But what program do I need? The only program I've heard of is Bittorrent.

NemarPott - Don't bother d/l ing unless your wii is modded. Sorry to point out the obvious but your post didn't mention your set up and you did say you're not sure what you're doing. Also - bear in mind, these are early days for SSBB players outside of Jap, things aren't as straightforward as d/l ing the torrent and playing it. We don't fully know what chips are working and the impact on the system. Hope this helps.

Thanks for looking out for me. Well here is my set-up
My Wii is NTSC/U with Wiikey on it. I have config1.3 saved on my comp. I have GCOS, Rawdump2.0, 1.9g-beta that once extraced put 3 files that say bootdisc on my desktop. One for each region
I also should mention that I have an actual copy of SSBB JAP that I bought from the store yesterday.
My main problem thus far was locating the Azumi file. But now that I found it and Im using Utorrent the ETA for my completion is 4-5w which I assume means weeks.
So should I just start an account with Rapidshare and d/l it tonight and then cancel my account with them?
