Whats the point of warning members in the title if your not going to follow through with the threat.

As for dual channels you will be stuck with them. Even a newer update will not delete the dual channels. All you need to do is drag the dual channels to the last page of your Wii channels and they will be out of site. To drag the channel to another page press B then A holding them down and drag the channel over to the right arrow which will move it to a diffrent page.

Maybe the Wii Modscene in the feture will find a way to get rid of them. But at this point there is no way to.

Chalk up another that cant play it using the swap technique. i know it woks and pretty sure i did it just fine like the others have said get to a black screen or a white. yep did that a few 100 times but once, ONCE made it to the opening video then after that white screen. *sigh* so depressed.

anyways i know the guy that posted the video saying how to do this says Nintendo repair job is a hoax but really think its real as its effected two of my friends and there isn't modded which makes me think the problem I'm having now isn't a matter of doing the swap right or wrong but that what ever Nintendo is doing to these wii's i need to do. so does anyone know what there doing?

I'm not sure what they are doing, but I have heard that people who modded their wii's have removed the chip and sent them to Nintendo and the consoles have been repaired (taken from GBAtemp forums). I'm not sure if it's true, but I suppose it's worth a try. The worst that could happen is they just send you back your console without doing anything and you are no worse off than you are now.

hi

So to clear things up:

1. The reason to SSBB not working is the present of the wiikey modchip and not the lazer head or whatever been dirty and need to be send in to Nintedo to be clean?

2. A backup have been made using the Friidump and burn using imgburn. Does it matter what burning you have.

3. Another way to get SSBB to work is using the 1.9b way like it show on youtube.

I am think about ripping a backup and buring it to dl disk. My question is that I still have the orignal wiikey firmware. Do I need to update it to the 1.9b or 1.9g? My wii is ver. 3.0 or 3.1 I believe?

thank

yes you need to update the firmware on for your wiikey. I know its the 1.9 update that allows the system to recognize dual layer backups, but i'm not sure if it is b or g.

you can also check your current wii version by going into the settings section in your wii menu. Across the top it displays the current version of your system.

I'm confused by this monsterous thread. If you haven't run any other version of SSBB and you want to play a backup version of the US SSBB, do you need to go through all the hassle of corrupting the wiikey firmware?

Current System Version: 3.2U via internet
WiiKey: 1.9g

I still have the orignal firmware that came with my wiikey. My question is can I update it straight to 1.9g or do I need to update 1.9b then to 1.9g?

Oh, I'm not too sure. I think when I did it I just went to 1.9g and skipped 1.9b. But thats just a guess.

I'm with you. I didn't bother reading any of this thread because the usa version hadn't been released yet. Now that I have it I tried to read through this thread and after about an hour I learned that I wouldn't easily find my answer. I tried searching the thread also and couldn't find an answer. So lets let someone explain the current situation

Heres the question:

USA Wii, verion 3.1u with Wiikey 1.9g and Wiizard USA backup. What steps do I need to take to play it?

*update*

I burned on dual layer using imgburn and it failed at 50%

Hello there --

Any advice that can be given would be appreciated, as I only have three blank discs left and I don't want to waste them. I've burned a single copy that actually loads on the disc channel (but white-screens just before the intro video) and a bunch that seem completely worthless that don't even spin in the system.

I have an HP DVD Writer 940d 3H23 and I am using Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL. I have Nero and ImgBurn, neither seems particularly better than the other at getting anything to run; neither particularly seems to do the job, as I flew through another 5-pack of discs that didn't work at all.

If anyone could give me some help or advice, I'd be most grateful. I'd like to play this game, and my original Japanese copy has just been sitting around. Incidentally, yes, I am able to play imports and backups and so forth. I just need help getting this to burn. I've never encountered such a touchy, fussy game in my entire life.

This is Caravan's release, the iso I'm burning. Hopefully there isn't an error with it that's affecting my burns, but in any case I would be most grateful for advice on how to do this successfully. I feel like I've tried just about everything.

I have heard that changing the book type of the burn might help, but I didn't want to mess with ImgBurn's settings that were so numerous (many of which I didn't understand), without the advice of someone who might know better than I do.

Thanks very much in advance.

The issue some are having is with the original game disc. As I understand on previous post and other forums I have read the Wiikey has issues distinguish between a retail and backup DVD9 dual layer disc. So when the retail version is inserted the Wiikey does not disable causing some sort of conflict between the Wiikey and retail version. Where the backup works perfectly fine due to the Wiikey needs to be enable to play.

This is why disabling the Wiikey fixes the retail version issue.

So all you should have to do is burn the Wiizard ISO to dual layer media.

That is it.

If you still have issues try manually setting the layer break at 2084960.

I burned the Wiizard version using ImgBurn. I works flawlessly, I am currently playing it to figure out if there are any comlications in the gameplay. I set the layer break at 2084960. Burned at 2.4x using a Memorex DVD +R DL disc. I have the 3.2U version wii and the latest firmware update for the wiikey, 1.9g. I played the DVD5 (J) version of the game on my wii previously also.

I know it sounds crazy but i was having same prob you are now, but all i did was go to walmart picked up a 7 dollar lens cleaner and put it in the wii. and just kept hitting reset a bunch of times. cause when you hit reset it trys to read the disk and it turns it but only for about 5 secs. did that about 20 times every 5 secs and put in smash and worked, loads nice too.

whats worse that can happen? if it doesnt work for you take it back to walmart get your 7 bucks back. what i was gonna do.

what do you mean you burned it and it worked...does it work with the wiikey enabled now? or did you use switch/disable chip first?
