Got it to work!!
Used IMGBURN at 2.4X with memorex DL DVD
did internet 3.2 update
ran smash brother update
ran the game
work 100%

Ok i've just read through 25 pages of crap on some other forum and read about 9 pages over here.
anyways, simple quesion, i have a US wii 1.9 wiikey, i did the update from the jap ver of ssbb and have the double channels and i can't get into my options menu, so with that being said, do i have to specify the layer break when burning with img burn, or can i just burn this iso???

OSOFAST OSOFAST OSOFAST OSOFAST OSOFAST OSOFAST ! im in the exact same situation and i have been asking people with nohelp. i have a us wii i updated it 100% with the jap brawl update. i lost my wii settingand cant connect to the internet. I baught brawl and the retail wont play! what do we do?

A backup works perfectly fine with the Wiikey enabled it actually needs to be enabled in oder for the backup to work. Users have to disable the Wiikey to boot the retail version of it. This has been explained multiple times through this thread.

thanks larry for the calrification but you didnt answer how do i get out of my japanese update and wii settings being bricked. i already installed the smash bros update with the jap disc. so its nbot gonna update again. do i need to wait for a newer update?

well, when it boils down to it if corrupting your key not working we either have to download a copy/dump image to comp or pray the wiikey guys come up with a new patch.

Both of you need to read more. It is ridiculous that the same questions get asked over and over.
Here's what you do...
1. Find the rip of the game (on a torrent or newsgroup).
2. Burn the game on a DL DVD using whatever program has worked for you (I would suggest ImgBurn because I use that, but I hear Nero works as well).
3. Burn the game.
Honestly, this game is really not that much different from other games you have burned.
Here are some common errors that you might come across (so you don't make another reply asking the same questions that have been asked)...
1. The retail game won't load up.
This is due to a problem with the wiikey firmware. You can either put a switch on your wiikey or corrupt the wiikey to make the original work. I'm not going into detail on either since they both have been explained too many times
2. The burned copy loads up but then white screens or black screens
This has been a common problem. You can try reburning it on a different media, or a different speed to see if it fixes it. Honestly, I don't think there is a full solution to this one yet.
3. The burned copy doesn't load up.
This could be a media / burn speed issue. It could also be that your laser is not reading DL disks. One person said they were able to go to walmart and get a lens cleaner and it worked.

SSBB(USA)...Wii Europe...3.2E internet update.
Ran iso through brick blocker burned at 2.4 speed. Loads in disc channel but sticks on black screen.

I heard that it is the best if you find the DVD9 version and burn SSBB into a 8.5GB dual layer DVD. What about the 4GB version of SSBB burning into 4.7GB single layer DVD? It cause problem and need lens cleansing right? or not all of them does?

kinda hard to read more when i've read every dam page up till this one, but anyways, the problem is the information is not consisten and YOU STILL did not answer my question. DO I HAVE TO specify the layer break if i am using a USA Wii with wiikey, that's ALL I want to know.
