The corruption technique is only for the wiikey AFAIK. I thought I remember people saying that they were able to play the game fine with a Cyclowiz.

I tried burning the Wiizard SSBB on a DL DVD+R FujiFilm disc at 2.4x on image burn but it was stuck at writing leadin.
Can anyone tell if I am doing something wrong? I have a PHILIPS DVD+-RW SDVD8820 which can burn DL discs I am pretty sure.

I don't know if my problem was related to yours but i gonna share it here anyways. My HP DVD writer never worked with Memorex DVD+R DL media using Imgburn! It keeps on getting stuck with 'Optimum Power Calibration Failed' error. When I research about this error in the net, it says that the media I'm using is not compatible with my burner so i used my other PC with LG burner in it and it worked in the first try. So my guess is that there is incompatibility issues somewhere between the media/burner/and imgburn!

I was researching my problem but didn't get any information about that. The issue is I don't have another computer with a DL burner.
Can anyone else give me some insight or a site where there are specs on compatibilities or something?

How long should it take to burn at 2x? I am using a FujiFilm DL DVD+R and it's been stuck on Writing LeadIn for about 20 minutes :(
It's still at 0% complete

Here is my story:
Wiikey 1.9g, 3.2u firmware.
use Memorex +DL.
burner is Liteon in pristine condition.
Get Japanese version (Darantou) on DL and also US version (Wizard) on DL. Use the L0 layerbreak and both Japanese and US ISOs verions worked on the first time. Without the L0 laybreak, the Jap version does not work.
Don't use the 15% update trick so I have duplicate channels.
Play well both versions, BUT:
1. With the Jap version, when my son tried to get the last master, it gave the green screen "Disc reading error, Consult the manual" message.
2. With the US version, can not play some movies in the subspace emissary. Same green screen with same error message like the Jap version.
3. Funny thing: Jap and US versions failed at different points of the game, although my son can play 90% of the total game, both versions.
WOnder what is wrong here. In order to solve the green screen problem, what method I have to use: Trucha Signer or Laser POT adjustment. Please advise.
Also, can any one show me how to open the Wii case. There was a post from CycloWiz for Lase POT adjustment, but the post assumes that users know how to open Wii case.
Thanks

After a lot of discs, I finally managed to go past the white screen on my USA wii with d2c, just bought brand new verbatim disc (they´re actually different from the last they sold), burn at 2x with layer break and now game loads flawlessly.
BTW has anyone burned the iso that removes the dup channels? Is floating usenext lately.

so, I have been reading this thread when the game first came out and decided to buy the retail copy of this game. I started to use rawdump to rip the game and and get an error....
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close emmediately.
Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow."
Decided to try and rip one of my other originals and it worked just fine. Can you not rip this game using rawdump? Do you have to use another program? If so, which one and how?
Thanks for your help. I would really like to start playing the game soon.

The game is on a DL disc, so you have to use friidump 0.4.0
There is a guide in another topic, check there on how to dump it.

After searching countless posts for my answer, I am still very confused on many areas.
I finished downloading the 'confirmed working -emcubed" SSBB.
*Have not tried burning backup yet
NTSC Wii
Wiikey
Version: Super Mario Galaxy's Update (I forget which version, 3.0?)
TDK Burner
My Wii only seems to work with -R discs.
I have Verbatim -R DVDs.
My questions are...
1. If the file is about 8.3GB, then it has to be dual-layer right? Why haven't I've heard about much about dual layer burning in this thread? Is it about that "dual layer break" thing, what is it?
2. How should I burn it? All I use is Nero and a TDK burner and Verbatim -Rs, and I could have access to dual-layer from a friend.
- So: I have a 8.3GB backup of USA SSBB, and I want to have simple steps on how to burn a backup of it. A main question is whether to use it on a single or dual-layer DVD.
<-- Confused
Thanks in advance.

Update your system to 3.2U.
Update wiikey to 1.9g
Burn iso to a DL disc at 2.4x using IMGBURN
Put game in system. Click yes to another update.
Do not run WiiBrickBlocker. Do not worry about layer breaks (I did not have to)

Thanks, I'll try that.
What kind of Dual-Layer disc is recommended to burn SSBB?

I used Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL and burnt SSBB with the layer break that was given and it worked on the second try for me. I didn't see this mentioned any where, but I went and changed the booktype to DVD-ROM so it might help getting it to run. The first try I got a black screen with an error message saying the Wii couldn't read the disc, so I tried it again and it worked (updated to 1.9g and it worked right after that).

Quick question. Has anyone found a way around the lock Nintendo put on the Brawl save data? Due to the game's Wifi nature, save data cannot be transferred to an SD card or backed up at all. Are there any workarounds or other methods to get this data onto an SD card or other medium?

It says my system needs to update but because my Wii has been modified the update might render my Wii useless.
Do I need to do this update? Can anyone help me here?

First run the update from your wii system menu. Then put in the disc. Then run the update it asks you to do!
