Are there any settings when using Friidump for dump speed or anything like that? I've been dumping SSBB now for 10 hours and it is only at 67%. At this rate, it will take almost a full day to dump.

hi i have a backup copy of my ssb. I use to be able to play it now i always get the Disc Error and to refer to my wii manual message. I put the game in it says loading and the screen turns white and the message pops up in green letters. I tried pressing every button to see if it skips and nothing. I tried shutting down and doing it again, taking out the game and putting it back in when it shows that message and nothin.

This game use to work and now its crap. Its not my wii because i can play everything else (back and original). I have a wiikey 1.9s and wii 3.2u.

Please help because the instruction that the guy posted in the beginning of this thread does not help me becuase atleast he got to see the movie and create a save which i cant.

Managed to backup my copy of SSBB at last.
I dumped the image fine but could not get it to work in wii, tried using ridisc dvd+r dl first no good then tried verbs would occasionaly start to load then could not read disc.Tried with and without layer break got through a few disc's!!!!
Found cheap Aone works fine no probs.
Anyone struggling to do a successful backup try Aones only £5 for 10 so not a great loss if they don't work.

I used Memorex DVD+R DL. Seems to work for the most part. Occasionally it stops and I have to take the disk out and put it back in a bunch of times before it will read again. I don't think we have Aone in the US.

I alwasy backup and burn my Wii games using IMGBurn at 4x speed, using VERBATIM DVD-R Discs, they are the best in my opinion.
I play all my backups using WiiGator's Wii Backup Loader 0.3 Gamma. SSBB and all other games always work perfectly with no slowdowns. Even the FMVs/Cutscenes work fine. The best part is that it works ONLINE \^^/.

I have not seen forums about the new WiiKey2 probably since its one of the newer ones. I just wanted to know how to burn SSBB. I have updated the WiiKey2 and mi Wii as well. I tried burning it at x2.4 on a Memorex DVD+R DL and my wii didn't recognize it and said to consult the instruction manual for details. I also tried burning it at x4 but after the screen "online gameplay may change" or something like that, I get a white screen. Please let me know if anyone has had results using a WiiKey2 w/Memorex Media. I am going to try Verbatim if I cant get any results with the 15 Memorex discs I bought.

DVD Burner included with HP m8200n PC
WiiKey2
USA Wii
ImgBurn 2.2.0.0

EDIT: Burned it with a Memorex DVD+R DL at x8 using ImgBurn 2.2.0.0 and with the user specified sectores (Tools>Settings>Write>User Specified: 2084960)

Working prfectly, the Wii makes a small amount of noise though, but I dont mind

I've started to use the DL version now, I like to watch the diffrent endings, but they were all replaced with Samus's ending on the DVD5 version, since the second layer on the DL version is all videos.

Hi all, I am trying to burn SSBB and I have one problem: I get a disc read error at the point just before the cutscene starts. I am burning SSBB using ImgBurn using a Philips DVD+R DL at 2x speed and using layer break (2084960) and trying to play on an NTSC Wii (system menu 3.4). I am completely stuck. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had that same problem when i burned it at x4. The solution I found was to burn at a higher speed. Try x8, if that doeesn't work, try a different brand, I recommend verbatrim. It has a good reputation.

Still doesn't work after urning at 8x speed. I would use a different media, but here's the catch:

Before I updated my Wii to 3.4, I burnt SSBB onto the same media (Philips DVD+R DL 8x) using 2x speed and layer break. It worked fine, until I updated my Wii to 3.4. Now the Disc Channel cannot read that SSBB disc (I found out that the ISO file was Trucha-signed, which is proven true when I re-downloaded SSBB, burnt it, and the Disc Channel was able to recognize it). And that leads to my problem of the white screen with green lettered error message.

I have several choices at this point:
1. Investigate further if there is a way to get SSBB on a Philips media to work.
2. Buy a new DVD media.
3. Downgrade my Wii (but I don't know exactly how to; I hear that it can brick your Wii or something).

Also, another question: I've read somewhere that the Wii uses more power reading double-layered DVD's than it does when reading single-layered DVD's. If the Wii cannot read DL DVD's properly, then one of the possibilities is that the Wii lenses are defected somehow. My Wii is able to recognize the DL DVD that I've burned SSBB in using the Disc Channel, but later leads to a disc error message. Is this the work of defective lens or is there another factor in play here?

If I had issues with the burn, would the game skip a whole lot? I'm trying to figure out whether I'm having issues with the game because of my Wii or because of the burn. I remember reading about there being issues with SSB and some Wiis but I never looked into sending the system back then

Ok so my wii is one of those really old ones that were in the first productions that now wont play DL discs, one week before SSBB coming out i had tried the DVD5 jap version and loved it, thats the one i played because i couldnt play the DVD9. Anyway a few months ago i stumble upon a guide on how to make a NTSC-US DVD5 SSBB with fully playable SSE so i go what the heck and do it. Everythings working fine until i update by mistake to 3.3 or 3.4(forget wich one) and the disc wont be read anymore. I dont do anything bout it for a bit then i look to see if there is a way downgrade turns out there was and now i have HBC and im downgraded to 3.0u I update my wiikey to 1.9s update to 3.1u using brawl cd and it STILL wont work any help PLEASE?

I got some verbatim dvd-r dl and burned ssbb at x4 & at x2. The wii recognizes both of these discs but after it says "now loading", my wii freezes and i get a white screen. I burned both of these copies with ImgBurn without the layer break because when i tries burning it with the layer break i got this message:

Would this be caused by the burner im using or is it because of the verbatim dvd-r dl discs im using?

I have the PAL version and it runs in color on Wii gator, but the video seems to glitch sometimes. I keep seeing the video with samus and, peakachook and whoever the girl is in blue, then it cuts and goes back to game play.
