i am thinking about getting this tv for my ps3 and i wanted to know if anyone else has it or just what people think, because don't want any ghosting or any other problems
Never heard of them myself and theres not much about the company on the net, but if the screens are Samsung Panels as mentioned on the advert then it should be great as Samsung make some of the better LCD panels.
I have a 26" polaroid HDTV (720p) cost me £300 and I cant fault Bluray or PS3 games for how they look on that, the only real issue is you cant actually see the screen in action before you buy.
For the price though Id probably be prepared to take the risk if I was looking for a TV in that price range at the moment.
"Ghosting" which is also known as screen burning only occurs on plasma TV's. If this is LCD then you should not worry about any residual images stuck on your screen.
i had a dmtech cheap 26" lcd t.v and i sufferd ghosting with that, if i was playin pes after i turn it off some of the image would still be on screen and would take a good few hours to dissapear.
so i went out and bought the panasonic lmd70a 26" for £349 and never been happier, screen is so much clearer and can leave it on all day and nothing burns the screen.
thing to think of with cheap brands is to find out what their customer service is like, cos these lesser known companies arnt normally as good
its only 720p (pretty sure at least) but it may downscale a 1080i or 1080p signal, thats what my viewsonic does.... a nx2232w. i think that model is pretty good, the major problem aside from no audio output is that the firmware needs to be updated so it doesent get the black intermittent screen (it happens somewhat rarely, about 2-3 times every 70 min or so) but its still a pain in the ass..
does 120 hz even matter in 720p, isnt that an 1080p thing only?
Yeah it will only be 720p you can tell by the resolution of 1366x768. But then youd be hard pressed to get many (if any) 26 or 32 inch LCDs that are 1080p. Mine has the same resolution and can output in 1080i although I use 720p as it appears a bit clearer and on 26" the difference between 720 and 1080 is negligible anyway.
As for the no analog or optical out that could be an issue if you want to have better sound than the TV can produce although Im sure there are workarounds if need be.
On closer inspection my main concerns are it only has 1 hdmi port. Mine has 2 and both are used, one for PS3 and one for upscaling DVD player, I therefore have to use the Component for my 360 and VGA for my PC and standard Scart for my Sky box. Im thinking of updating my PC to DVI output so therefore would need another HDMI and also my 360 has a HDMI on it so in theory I could easily use 4 hdmis and I dont even have HD TV coming in from anywhere LOL. Looks like ill need an HDMI switcher, which are on ebay for about £12-15.
SO my final thoughts on the TV are the picture should be good, but the sound output and connection inputs give me cause for concern and I would look for a different one.
Well i brough an wharfedale 37" hdtv1080p also has ntsc playback and it cost me 600 quid ! its from argos gd stuff looks awesome and no hd lag so its a great buy!
