The thing about forums is , rather than telling you what to do the members treat you like a dumb ass , as if your not allowed to ask questions , and therfore do not give a straight answer theyle just gve you this BS _ look at this or search for that , where is the loggic in that if someone wants to know an answer to something then F+++ing tell them ,

They pretend they are special cos they know and you dont,

Anyway answer is :

Basically uve got a d2c so your choices are as follows:

1: Buy a replacement wii dvd d2b rom drive off ebay (search d2b) which you could moddify very easily with only 6 points to solder easilly with a wiikey

2:Get a d2ckey installed (either by your self if your good,Or or by a pro fessional ..

3:Get an argon installed (it is an opional choice from d2ckey) basically same as d2ckey but a different make/brand ...

Your choice bro ,

kind regards wiimii

Really Wiimii, you see i thought the main idea was that you used the search button to see if anyone had posted before on the issue you are having rather than have 1000 posts asking the exact same question.

So while your sitting their complaining about how forums are run why dont you go and educate yourself so you can create your own forum and then youll be happy, otherwise it might be a good idea to keep your complaining to yourself as nearly every forum works this way.

when u have typed in the same answer to the same question for the hundreth time WiiMii you may change your tune rapidly.

people give out their expertise freely on here and other forums, if u want to continue repeating yourself like a broken record fine, keep typing the same answer but dont criticise those on here who are a little fed up on new users wanting to be spoonfed and who want the newbie to follow a small amount of etticate - ie use search 1st ask 2nd

as to the post u replied to, he gave a link to a tutorial, what was wrong with that, this way the newbie gets to read and learn, it did not answer all his questions but it cleared up his backup queries

@wiimii
Next time leave that attitude & those remarks out of your posts.
There was nothing wrong w/ XboxHazE posting a link and answering part of TD1048's query.
IMO your post came out of nowhere and was totally not needed.
I think 5couse & Thinone hit the nail on the head in their posts.

I just wont to thank you all for your help. I know I am a newbie and I know that you guys are tried of reading the some forums over and over again. I was just look for some kind of help and for some kind of advice. I did do my own looking around on here to see what my options were. At the same time if you guys are so tired for reading the same forums over and over when why even bother leaving smart @@$ answers or even responding to them. But like I said thanks for ALL your help.

One is a Wiikey and the other is a D2CKey.

Wiikey will work with all Wiis pre-D2C and D2CKey will only work with D2Cs.

I would not even think of doing this mod yourself since it's a D2C. Have you had prior experience? If not then this is just not for you. Send it to a professional instead.

You can buy drives off of Ebay for like $150 I think. They are not modded though.

I know its been some time but I know how to solder. I just need a little practices and a anther drive just in case. And the most impotent thing is a set of pic's to show me were to solder lol. But I do have a guy that will do the work for me if I think I am over my head. It might sound stupid but I rather @#&% up the first time my self then go to someone for help.

Thank TD1048

The reason we replied is very simple , wiimiis reply was completely out of line, you were given a perfectly good answer to your question there was no real need for any other comments or would you have liked the first page you came across to be the same question 1000 times or would you rather we got down to the point and helped you on your way ?

ps attitude is not a good thing to have when your asking for help neither is giving a snotty reply to people who are going out of their way to assist people.

And no offence but if you dont know the difference between needing a d2c or a wiikey then you should be reading the forums properly.

But all that said good luck with what you need to do, just read the help that is available and you will be able to do it first time, perfectly.

xboxhaze gave u a link to answer to one of ur queries - how is that smartass answers it was a good response

the following replies from scouse and myself were due to wiimiis attitude in his post not yours

we all start knowing nothing and learning as we go along - we all help eachother - u will learn this as u become more established

Thanks TD1048

@ binkie7

I was looking at that forum and looking at the pic. I know I am new at this but is there some thing wrong with the pic or is it just me. The numbers on the unfinished one dont seem to mach the finished one. Is it just me.

I figured it out it out. On the unfinished one there are two sets of numbers and I throw me off. I thought that the numbers and letters on the one chip were backwards. My bad.

I can't understand why there is not a "Here is what u need to know about modding your wii" Stickied thread.. Instead, i have to waste my time reading all these threads dated back to December 2006 in order to understand what a wiikey is and how its better than that modchip.

Please, someone that knows all these stuff and has been on the scene from the start, enlighten us newbies with a sticky guide thread that this forum is so well known for.. : I want to mod my Wii so I can play backups and other region's games. What should i do?

If i wasnt sure what i was doing then my first port of call for help would be either the place were i purchased the chip from or from the support site from the chips manufacturers after that i would be searching forums for the answers and then if i couldnt find an answer i would ask the guys on here for their help not the other way around.

I undertsand what your saying about the stickies and agree it might be a good idea but to be honest if people cant be bothered to use the search button first then .............

btw ive just done a simple "wiikey install" "d2c install" search on google, in the first 2 responses i got the answers i needed in plain english and with good quality images, now if only others could do that eh :)

So.. u basically advised us newbies to spend a day or two searching for a thing u and maybe 100 other people here already know. I am not selfish, i just feel that the nintendo section(it took me a lot of time to figure out the gamecube too) of these forums is a lot less accessible than say the ps2 one, or the psp one.

I don't know what a " "wiikey install" "d2c install" " is. and even if i used google, it would send me here, because you guys are the experts and i should ask you!

er lapiz yes, basically yeah look to see if the problem has been mentioned before instead of clogging a forum full of the same repetitive questions, wouldnt you rather see the solution to your problem rather than sitting around waiting for someone else to do the work for you ? also the original poster knew what chip he has in his wii so he has at some point used an internet search engine it would have been just as easy to type the details in to it and come across the answer already on any number of forums.

Lastly i apoligise to the original poster TD1048 as his thread has been somewhat hijacked , i wont be posting regarding this matter in this thread again , its enough to say that no matter what anyone who reads these forums think, the guys on here who have offered me help and who ive offered help too do this because they want to, because they want to help not because someone thinks they should.

Sorry

@ 5couse

Your right man dont be sorry. Lapiz is out of line no one should demand someone to do any thing. He should have done so research on his Wii. I mean hell just by reading this Forum you can learn a lot. Yea this forum got a little out off topic but I got a lot of great information out of it.
