most of your questions are answered in the guides linked to you on this page,
i will answer this though
Quote: I have a PS2 (Fat) and according to that website, I have a V7 model with the 39001
you seem to be quite confused, and i dont mean to offend but you are new to this stuff no?
well this guide supports all ps2 below 11v(so you can softmod your ps2 with it), this guide is a bit long but answers all these basic questions for you along the way, this guide also has a very success rate (if you follow it YOU WILL BE FINE success rate indicates the amount of people that were patient and followed it through!)

hey tripplite,
Thanks for that link.... I skimmed through it a bit and it seems quite helpful.
I just have to go find myself an Action Replay max, or codebreaker now. Hopefully Ebgames or Gamestop still carry these products. The closest one is about 45 min away so i wont be finding one until the weekend.
Thanks again, I will probably have more questions as they come up.

I haven't gone out looking for the AR max yet or the codebreaker, but i do have another question.
If I load the exploit file onto my mem card, can i then transfer that file over to someone else's memory card via the ps2 browser?

no. you cannot copy your system file from one card to another. you will have to use ARMAX/CB/GS2 to transfer the exploit file.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .

I havent purchased the AR Max yet, but I am doing everything else (making the memory card file etc). Right now i am trying to remove the front cover off of the ps2. Im sort of confused about this, when it says that the front cover has to be removed in order to use the swap card, does it mean the plastic strip with the playstation logo? If so That piece already came off the one time I dropped the ps2. So I should be left with an extra ridge type piece on the dvd drive hanging from the drvie right?
Thanks

Never mind, I made the slide card and it works. So it was just the plastic Ps logo cover.
When I slide it to the right, it makes a frightening noise, like it is spinning and scratching against something. Will moving the cog back and forth ever cause the Ps2 to scratch the discs? Also, are there any side affects to doing this (sliding it back and forth)?
Thanks

all drives tray's open with a rubber band system if the rubber band gets torn or falls off the pulley then yes i guess you call that a side affect!

ya if your talking about that piece of plastic right in front of the driver's tray then ya!

Question
Is the Ps2 really picky on what type of discs you put in the drive? I'm trying to use a Fujifilm DVD+R and it seems not to be working. I tried a dvd movie on the fujifilm disc and it seems to stutter every so often. So is it the dvds im using?
