I am looking at getting a ps3,and I found one on ebay that im bidding on is there any thing I should be worried about, asin bad laser's are they a problem,I also heard that the 60 gb version had wifi problems but is BC.Should I be looking at a certain version other then another,Like the 60gb will be hacked before the rest of them cause being BC,Or something else,Everthing I mentiond above is just hearsay as I don't even no a person with a ps3,just by overhearing people talk. The only reason I'm looking at ebay is cause For the price of a new one I can get some games and movies on ebay.Or is my best bet to go new with a warranty, like a 360 its going break soon so be prepared. Thanks for any input.

I personally own an Original 60 Gb PS3 that I bought on day one. I never had any WIFI problems. I actually I never had any problems with it period! I do know that you want to stay away from the 20 & 40 GB PS3 due to lack of backwards compatability with a lot of PS1 & PS2 games. I dont have a lot of info on the 80 GB model though. Also I would steer clear of non US model PS3's period, Unless you plan to play lots of imports.
I told you so.

If you go the used route, i strongly suggest buying from the high street or their online stores.
Most of the credited retailers offer a guarantee, read the small print if buying from the likes of ebay and such, some do offer guarantee but under strict circumstances.
As far as what to look for just general bad marks etc listen to see if the fan is running to loud the faint clicks of a laser no reading right.
So far with my own ave had no trouble with.

Where about? I'm in Erie.
I've been thinking about picking one up off eBay also. Only because I want a 60 gig, though. And it seems like there a lot of "as is" (busted) 60 gigs on there. So I'm leary about picking up a used one.

It does have the exact same backwards compatability as the 60gb version.

I thought it did, but you guys know more about them, so I wanted to make sure. A 20 gig would also be an option, but there's not a whole lot of them to be found. I don't care about wifi and I'm going to add a larger hdd anyhow.
Thanks for the reply.
