I compress the dvd I want to burn using DVD shrink. Then it automatically starts to burn using Nero. After the burn process finishes, the disk ejects and an error message appears on the dvd shrink window. The disk I burn will play bits and pieces of the movie in my dvd player but will never start up and play like the original dvd. Am i skipping a step here?

Post a log from Nero so we can see what's going on.

What about Zoso's question dealing with blank media and burn speed?
What about a log (that would provide us with adequate information to solve your problem) from Nero?
The more specific you can be...the more of these questions you can answer, the better equipped we are to getting it figured out and sending you down the proper path.

Good quality media meaning the blanks dvd's? Please keep in mind that I am very new at attempting to burn dvd's. The error message at the end of the process is from dvd shrink, not nero.

cody2422,
We've all seen this occurrence countless times. Ever since the delivery of Nero 8 up until version 8.2.8.0. I won't be surprised if Nero blatantly brushed aside this issue with the recent release of 8.3.2.1 (who can blame them though). In any case, try updating to the latest release, and marry that with the suggestions abovementioned.

Alternatively, you can use the much-loved ImgBurn.
EDIT: What is the exact error message?

This may be a good suggestion to think about Cody2422.

Yes meaning the blank dvd's. Cheap blank dvd's are the cause of plenty of burning issues and well as playback issues.

What kind of error message are you getting from Dvd Shrink considering once it's done transcoding it should open up to Nero and let it take over?
I'm most curious.
