Just wondering.
I thought general discussion means you can talk about anything related to ps3... i guess not.

Indeed, creaky suggested PM's but they are highly ineffective for something as this as the person holding the tourney would have to pm EVERYONE in order to not create a single ad thread. Besides that its an afterdawn event though not officially sanctioned.
What if we made one sticky for afterdawn member organized tournaments, and the original poster would just edit the first post and change the info as needed. Like not just for cod4 but for any ps3 game that one would wish to hold an AD tourney on.

Seriously, why can't we have COD 4 tournys? Some people dont know some people and some people want to play.

What okthen12 is saying is true.. This section sounds like it's meant to be about pretty much anything related to PS3. That's really odd.. it's not like it's breaking any rules or something I don't think. It would take a long time to PM people and even if you did it... it's not worth it because some people may not get it so don't pull the trigger on that idea because it sounds way to frustrating and not worth it.

I haven't got anything against tournaments/general discussion. I don't think there would be a problem with one thread (which would have the first post edited now and then) for this; my problem is the offtopic/irrelevant chatting nature of such posts (like far too many other console forum posts) so provided the thread wasn't abused with irrelevant kiddie chat i guess we could allow it...
Like most posts i end up closing, i/we mods just can't tolerate offtopic crap, 'discussion' too often turns into wasted forum space..

Ty for the explanation and reply Creaky. But before we go off and organize the tournament thread could you check with the head honcho to make sure this isn't against the rules in anyway, I wouldnt want to see it get closed down again because of a technicality.
Oh and btw do you know where Oner went?

I'll volunteer to manage the PS3 tournament thread, if no one has a problem with it. I'm on AD multiple times a day so I'll be able to keep it up to date and organized. Granted the mods and admins give us the green light on the idea itself.

LOL!!! I had a good laugh with that. Sounds like y'all mods thought Oner was a little soft on the PS3 guys. Atleast we arn't like the Wii forum, Binkie has her hands full there.

This is diffrent from that however because it is simply afterdawn members vs afterdawn members in a private match, not like clan wars.

So there is ONLY ONE forum for PS3 and about 7 for xbox and about 7 for PS2. Yet, we cant have a thread topic about people who want to get the word out about starting tournaments on PS3 games?
Is Afterdawn hurting that much for bandwith and feels the PS3 forum is bogging its servers down? That seems crazy.
