Is Afterdawn hurting that much for bandwith and feels the PS3 forum is bogging its servers down? That seems crazy.
One has absolutely NOTHING to do with the other. Bandwidth on aD is a non-issue and has nothing to do with allowing aD to be used as the public place to converge for tourneys. With that said, the console forums are in need of some updating but that could mean a few thousand posts/threads may not make the cut if they can't be merged.
Plus the PS3, 360 & Wii sections where added at much later dates (after aD 2.0) and that is why there is ONLY 1 section per next gen console. Either way I guess we can give it a TEST TRIAL for a little while unless I hear different from the Admins/Owners of aD. But I expect who ever offers/volunteers to keep it organized to do so. Just use the first post as the base to edit/update and when something gets posted that is unnecessary, just ask one of us to edit/remove it.
Besides that the PS3 forum isn't big enough to need to be divided, personally I hated it when they split up the PSP forum it made things harder to find if anything rather than easier. It's one of the reasons why I've stopped posting on the PSP section.
I was thinking maybe a "general discussion" forum and then a "games or new games" forum. Keep the general discussion forum open for questions about firmware or technical problems. Then the games forum can discuss new games and also names of members who want to be in an AfterDawn clan or the tournaments for example. I dont know. Just throwing ideas out there cause I have NO FRIENDS on my PS3 network. :(
Just my opinion but there wouldn't be a point in having more than one PS3 forum, you can't exactly do much with them, play games, and oh...play games; at least with xboxes (for example) you can mod them and stuff; (hence why i didn't bother with a PS3, in fact my PS1's and PS2 have rarely ever been used).

You do have a point creaky..well for the PS3 at least since the Wii, DS & 360 can be modded. The forum sections/splits where directly made from my suggestions when asked, though next time around (maybe aD 3.0?) I think it would be best to only have 3 MAYBE 4 if absolutely needed, areas per console, and/or possibly making the older ones less PS2/Xbox. Something along the lines of
"Insert Console Name" General Discussion (Games talk, Sales or whatever)
"Insert Console Name" Game Backup Discussion (How to, help & etc)
