Are the new 360s RROD Free?

I want to buy me a 360, but I am so scared and I dont want the hassle of red tape to get in my life. So I am wondering has the rrod problem been fixed for the newer hardware?
I know you're good but I am better.

Well I dont know if its been fixed but I just bought one. It has the new falcon motherboard and there is a huge differance in how cool it runs compared to my last 2 360's that stoped working and got RROD.

No system is beyond hardware failure. I do not care what they say they fixed. I am sure it will help but i doubt highly it will eliminate the problem completely.

The new ones dont get as hot. I have played mine for around 8 or more hours and it just gets a little warm. But if you leave it on like all night or for a couple days it might get hot. Havent tried that. The rrod could possible show up again depending on how well your console is ventilated. (dont put the fan right up against the wall it will get hotter then normal and your games might glitch. If the console gets too hot the thermal paste on the processor will melt and the processor could possible slide off. causing the rrod. not sure if they fixed this. All in all the rrod could happen if you dont care about your console. This is from experience. It DOESNT matter what position you put your console. i have mine laying down and its as warm as stading up. good luck

My Elite is so much cooler than the old Premium I had, it certainly hasn't had any hiccups yet (touch wood).

Well, thanks alot for the help. And for the gentleman who said all new systems are now RROD free enjoy your system, well I am not about to enjoy my system cause I wont be buying one. Here's what I found. This might help other people wondering about the new falcon chipset 360s.

Dindi, i am on XBL all the time. But i only play one game, Rainbow Six Vegas (now RSV6 2).
All of my other games are "offline only" ;)
rafpac, If you want a 360 then buy one. It may be years until the problem is totally solved. It is a game of chance. I have two 360s and neither one has yet run into a problem. Sure they may eventually but i am not about to wait for MS to fix it before i get one.

Hold on let me say something to rafpac so the mods wont think its off topic. Bro if your not gona buy a system because your affraid its gona get RROD then maybe your not Xbox 360 material. Hell you probably shouldnt buy a car either because you might get in a wreck. What all my a**holeness is trying to say is that the 360 is to fun of a system to let something like potential RROD turn ya away. I mean what else you gona play games on a PS3?? (laughs out lough hard).

I have been through all the maps and am just working on getting up my last few A.C.E.S.
I think i am 20 marksman, 17 or 18 on CQB, and 17 or 18 on assault
You can really get some points with a two man private room on realistic medium density.

You're kidding, right? With your train of thought, it appears you won't own any console.
There is no console which has a 0% failure rate. There are Wiis which fail and there are PS3s which fail (actually, there's a bunch of 60gigs on eBay). So if you want to buy a console which has no chance of failure, then you're shit out of luck.
The 360 will rrod if there is ANY hardware problem. But a rrod console is most commonly considered a console which has overheated because that's what caused the vast majority of 360s to fail. Well, MS has addressed the overheating issue. But if the 360 has a memory issue, a cpu issue, etc., it'll still rrod. So you're still going to have a small failure rate, just like you will with EVERY other item you buy through out the rest of your life.
So now you got boobs who will hear of a Falcon or two which has rrod, and they'll say "oh look, MS didn't fix shit".

My modded Falcon RROD on me :(, after long telephone calls with MSCustomer Services, they agreed to fix my 360. So i sold it on because i had brought the talismoon fans for it and it still got RROD so was worried it might happen again. Check the internet and use google to find out more about your question. I got the 360 during Chrismas btw but i already owned a PS3 since so maybe you should get that, great console with great exclusives coming out this year.
If your a 360 man yourself, you can cling onto the hope you dont get RROD, a few friends i know havent had RROD and they have the first 360 Models. Its down to you really.

yep, i had a launch 360 that never had any problems other than getting banned from live. did overheat, RROD on me anything. although i did have to replace the laser on it, but it had about a trillion hours logged on it. it wasnt shut off for the first 3-4 months hardely at all.

i wouldnt say they give you a new console. sl7rips didnt get a new one, got his old one back 'fixed' that RROD like 2 days later.

Funny side note. The PS2 actualy outsold both the PS3 and 360 in the month of February (as far as new consoles sold)
I can not believe that people are still buying and playing those things. I gave mine away 6 months ago, well one of them at least.
