As we are all very excited over the new arrival of the PS3 v2.20 firmware, I started seeing reports that it is available for download. Apparently at this point it is only available through the XMB until Playstation.com post the link on their website over the next day or so.
But!! I stumbled across a link for this firmware. I just want to point out that I will take no responsibility for it as it's not provided by Sony.
- BD-Live (BD profile 2.0).
- DivX/WMV files larger than 2GB can now be played.
- DivX subtitles support.
- Resume play after the disc has been ejected or the unit has been switched off.
- Mosquito noise filter (for DVD only).
- Music and Photo playlists can be copied over and used on a PSP.
Note: I am downloading it now but it will take about 3 hours as my internet has been throttled until the 28th. :-( I guess 25GB isn't enough for me each month! If anyone can clarify the validity of this update link... Please do! :-D

I did say it's available through the XMB but some with myself included don't have their PS3 hooked up to the net.
Yea i see what you mean, plus for people like me i takes forever to download the update and makes my ps3 unavaliable, i cant understand why they dont have the "download in background" option for updates...

Odin, what exactly do you mean? I've checked the Playstation (Australian) website about 20 times over the last few days and it only shows v2.17 available for download. :-(
Actually, I am about to check it again, right now...
I'm in the great land of Canada, where PS3 updates are available days earlier than in Australia... just kidding. I updated 2pm EST 3-25-08 to version 2.20 via USB from my PC.

I just compared your link to the one I posted and they are both exactly 121.8MB, so I guess the one I posted is genuine. I am going to hold off until Playstation.com Australia provide a link though.... Just to be safe.
