What programs are you using?
How long is the home movie that you are tryign to encode?

Encoding (as oppossed to compressing) is a very slow process that requires many hours of crunching. Let us know how long your movie clip is and what program you are using if you want feedback on whether this is abnormally long or not. If you are encoding a home movie using a program like TMPGEnc , then 2 hours could be a great time (depending on the length of the clip, of course).

As for burning, what speed is your burner? What speed rating is your media? If you are burning at 1x or using 1x media on a faster drive, the burn time is normal.

Hi kane2553, I had some problems with that movie and shrink also. Good old Disney strikes again. I ended up running ANYDVD behind Shrink to get it to decrypt. My time was about 1hr 15min but I'm running Windows ME. The rest of the PC specs are very close. I hear XP is missing the ASPI layer. If you haven't already done so, download it and install.

Hi Kane, I know I saw links to the Aspi layer on this forum somewhere, but can't remember where. Just do a search off your browser for Windows XP ASPI layer or check the Microsoft site.

I recently downloaded and got DVD Shrink to work but when played in my Apex players one old and one new they like pause in mid place. Also sometimes it cuts out parts. Is it something I am doing wrong or is it just because it's a burnt copy. They seem to play fine on the computer.
Thanks

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70 this is a link for the aspi files Also I tried backing up my American Wedding DVD and it would not work with DVD Shrink 103 I downloaded and installed 2.3 and it worked so you might need to check what version you are using and upgrade it.
