Ive got a PS3 and I have call of duty 4 and i play it online nearly everyday but no one seems to be using headsets. Ive seen in shops on online that if you buy warhawk you get a free headset with it and I want to play an online game and talk with the headset so if any one knows if loads of people talk with headsets on warhawk online then tell me please . I know loads of people who have xbox 360 and all of them say that nearly everyone uses headsets in the online game and i wish that Ps3 could be like that.
On CoD4 people without headsets seem to play stuff like free-for-all or TDM because it's hard to make friends without a headset. I use my headset and it's a huge advantage to have one. I've found that nearly 75% of CoD4 players have headsets. It really goes game to game though. Some games everyone has a mic. Some games people have none and I'm the only one.

I have a headset, but to be honest, i only really find it useful when playing Team Tactical or Private team games. The reason for this being that i find there are so many people on CoD4 just looking for arguments and to bitch when they die, that headsets are only really useful when playing in small teams with people you know.
Also, when playing larger team games, i always find that there is at least one player on the team that either has his mic set to level five so you can hear what the person down the street is saying, or that they insist on singing/whistling/generally being an idiot throughout the entire match. This has improved greatly with the mute function though.
Mic's are very useful when used properly though, and i wouldnt be without mine now.

I wouldnt waste your money on the warhawk kit, for one the game's ranking system is so glitched its non existent, and the mic that comes with it is decent don't get me wrong but it picks up people talking in the same room as you like they are talking directly into the mic.
Look for another jabra besides the BT125 at staples or best buy or circuit city, stay away from Motorola headsets regardless of price; they don't work with the ps3.
I'm using a headset from Microsoft. Microsoft Lifechat 3000. Not really sure of the model. Anyway the only reason I even used it was to make the voices come out of the headset cause I find that theres a lot of ignorant and annoying ppl online. I use the headset only if myself and a few friends jump online. But now that theres the mute option I don't even use the headset now.
