Thanks Mark.
I realise I'm not making myself very clear.
Have gone through the exact same process with three boxes in the same location: two work perfectly and the other fails to pick up transponders (showing SNR at 60% and AGC at 99%).
Using exactly the same connection when scanning, the working boxes show SNR at 70+% and AGC at 34%.

Thanks to Mark - Flashed 500c box today and worked perfectly. Thanks also to Scott for crack
Here is what i did
Used DreamUp Version 1.3.3.4 and connected via Null Modem Cable
Flashed box which took about 15 mins. I did not erase flash when prompted.
When Flash process completed, i attached box to tv without restarting the box.
Got the DK Logo Screen first and seemed to be frozen.
Rebooted box and got the DK Logo again. I choosed Menu on Remote Control and then got into Settings and Chose Autoresponder and Scanned for my Area.
I could see all channels being found. Then i went to Sky Sports2. EVO seemed to turn itself on automatically and in a minute or two, all channels were running

Hi I'm newbie with the DM 500-C. I'm trying to get it back on again only have basic channels. I thought all you did was FTP the new nagrarom 7 bin file over and delete 10 and 11? Do you have to reflash a new image? or is it what you say about the info button that gets it going. bit confused
To answer myself that was the fix, after ftp hold down info button, press blue button and change to evocamd and restart. Hope this helps someone

hey,i am a noob when it comes to dreamboxes,
i have downloaded the fix files but my questions is, do i only use the image file cos thereis about 8 files in the fix,
all help appreciated

hey there,
just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone for the help especially cgscott and markarman, just flashed cgscotts latest backup image to the box using dreamup and the null modem cable, didn't work first time as I said yes to flash erase (it found the channels but all blacked out barring r*e), worked when I did it and selected no and evo'd on sly sp*rts...now back to the darts! thanks again!...oh and I'm on n*l here in dublin and scanned bruteforce uk...

I everyone please can you help me. my cable box channels all went recently and i need to re tune but its not something ive ever done. please can someone give me a step by step guide.

hi i have flashed the image by scott, hooked up to tv,scanned for ch**us and found all the channels. but none but the free ones will work.
am i doing something wrong?

also tried holding down the info button but that doesnt bring up a different menu,is there something like an emu you have to turn on

When I flash the image to the box using dreamup, I can't boot the box. The DK logo appears, "starting evocamd etc" appears for a fraction of a sec and then the DK logo again permanently.
However, if I flash an earlier image, like a backup I made or one of chris's earlier ones, it boots fine. No channels of course (apart from RTE1 etc) but boots ok. Also, if I flash erase it, it boots fine.
Could it be a problem with the image? I know it works for many people, but my box doesn't seem to like it. Any idea what's going on?
Is there another working image I could try or would it even make a difference? Or it's a problem with the box software, evocam etc and not the image. I don't know enough about how these things work to tell.

when you scanned you did select scan all didnt you?
silly i know but you would be surprised.................
when i originally scanned ntl ireland i got nothing. i rescanned using bruteforce uk and all was good.

this is gonna sound sooooooooo stupid but......
when i flashed originally the dk image came up and stayed on the screen. i thought it was going to freeze and not work.
i pressed ok on the remote and a list of channels came up (with no info) i selected sly sports and pressed ok again. then i pressed and held the info button and restarted the evocam.
after a few minutes i changed to bbc1 and teverything worked.
my brother in law had the same thing he simply hadn't restarted the evocam by pressing and holding the info button. if it isnt one of these fixes then i'm as stumped as you are im afraid.
you could try flashing and old image and scanning.
then flashing the new image over the top. ie when you are asked if you would like to perform a flash erase click no.
this has worked for me in the past.
the main thing people seem to be doing wrong is clicking yes to performing a flash erase. this will result in the symptoms you are having.

no i am in cork, so scanned chorus again using the fix on 4shared and it worked,thanks all
if i was supposed to do that originally sorry,
i flashed with the backup image and then flashed again with uk fix on eamos library,working now,thanks every1

You little beauty markerman - that was it. I just assumed it had crashed because it didn't progress past the logo. All I had to do was press any bloody button on the remote to see that it hadn't crashed. Such a stupid little thing to get stuck on.
All working fine now. You and Chris have made my family's (and my neighbours') christmas. Thanks & have a good one yourself.

Once downloaded I find 9 bin files. Which one do you need to flash?

Thanks to all for the fixes here, they work perfectly in Dublin on nthell. One question, Is it possible to flash channel data to dreambox like the way you can with a Eurovox using a null modem cable. I lost all my Fav etc with new image and as you know it's a pain to reorder them manually. I have a few of my friends boxes to do so any help would be great.

man45, i use the program dreamset for copying settings from one box to another, works perfect once you have one set up.if you cant find it pm me and i can mail it on
Ive a question too, is there a change in the roms in the new image?
I manually changed the keys in my box and it worked straight away. will it roll next time? im using image dw2.1 with the rom11 fix from earlier on this year.
If i could avoid reflashing the box it would be handy

Pulling out what little hair I have left. Have purchased crossover cable to connect PC-Box direct. Won't connect via ftp, DCC, or Flashwizard.
Any ideas?
