lol. Some people will do it the hard way while others use: flash - it does the hard work, so you don't have to :)

thank you hadmad do i have to do the following everytime i unplug the box:
""Press blue button on remote, to go to Tux Commander.
Select var folder
select the bin folder
hightlight hypercam 1.06.
Press red button to execute,
press exit
press red button to SAVE settings and exit.
Tune to Sky Sports or Sky Movies and wait a minute or two, then change channel again.
All channels should now be available.""
as im doing it for a friend so i will have to unplug it ha just wanted all the info to pass onto him before i give it back. thanks again bro

thanks scouser forgot to mention im in the chorus area in kildare doing this for a guy in dublin, do i have to be on ntl to see if it works?

You'll need someone to test it on nthell for you (c*orus and nthell send different signal) It also has to be scanned on nthell anyway.

It will just need to be scanned and work that's basically it.

you dont have to do any thing on the img i put up just plug in and do scan
on img i put up there is only the hypercam everything is done

Great, I've only seen the fix today, downloaded it straight away.
Sky Comedy unscrambled after about 10 seconds.
Fantastic, but only the Movie channels.
So I played around for a while, made a hypercam script so I could restart the box without having to reboot Hypercam through telnet/tux-commander and It worked like a threat, for the channels I didn't have before but now I don't have the movie channels, well I don't have them fully unscrambled, I can hear them and about quarter of the screen is scrambled.
I'm completely baffled by this, I'm using Gemini3.2 never had a problem with it before and it's also by far my favorite image so I would love to stay with it, so if anybody has a notion of what is happening could they please let me know, and I'm fairly handy with linux so you can be as technical as you want.
I have saved the image so if anybody wants it just pm me.

Hi All, Total newbie to all this so hope you don`t mind me asking some possibly stupid questions.
I have a Sky satelite system here in the UK and also in our place in Ireland ( Cork City ) so I was thinking of getting a Dreambox 500.So my questions are:
Is this the right one,if so which version do I get 500s or 500t.
Can I set one up here and then take it to Ireland to use?
Will it work straight out of the box or will I need to insert codes?
Any reccomendations for who to buy from in the UK?

Dm500s is for satellite.
In order to receive the channels you want you have to use a thing called cardsharing.
This isn't a plug and play like the cable boxes a lot more is needed.

No idea what that is, have you got any links or sites I can check for info.
I also have a Virgin cable connection here in London, would the Dm500c work well with that or is the Kryptview better, more user friendly ( though my brother works in IT so should be OK putting codes on ).Any recs. for UK companies to buy from?

The box is working with a DW2.0 image when connected to TV , i need to install the new DK image.
I can drag and drop the new files(HYPERCAM 1.06) with FLASHFXP,but it wont work with the current image.

hadman. not expert enough to do the complex route on this (but will if i have to....4 young nippers takes up time on a sun !) Doin this for elderly neighbour. Downloaded your img (paul etc) flashed using dream up all ok. searched channels Nthell dub. Got the 180 went to sly sports waited 3 mins and blank screen any ideas? Thanks

Absolutely solute those that did this! Nice one ;-)
Had really given up on the dreambox tbh.
Well, mainly 'coz at the start news was that NT*ell had gone N3 - game over!
It seems likely to me that they really will go N3 somewhere between premiership and Xmas.
But is that really the end?
It certainly is, if to crack it is millions of quid worth of kit. But is that the case?
I certainly hope not!
Does anyone know if this can be done? (Without nitric acid on chips and electron microscope reverse engineering!)

hi im missing a few of my chanels afterthe new fix. in particular, m*v base; k*ss; a few of the discovery channels* fashion tv to name a few. any ides?? wud anyone have a loist of the chanel frequencies and codes they cud supply me??
th chanel scan doesnt seem to pick it up, ive tried bruteforce mdds, cable the english one, changing the freq...pretty much everything, IM at a loss now.
If poss can someone PM me the chanel list and freq's so i can try manually.

Thanks MGB but that doesnt help much, im not familiar with how to do that either, surly a dreambox can be flashed with a new image using FLAHFXP. Would anyone know, and know how to do it.
