WHat happens once you get banned? Can you access the market place or anything?

1- I'f I play backups that are 'stealthed' with the two files mentioned, I will be able to play on Live, but will most probably get banned after some time.

2-I'm broke so even if I save my money, I can only buy one 360, and I am planning on modding it. Will this mean that even if I make an xbox live gamertag, for achievements and so on, and play backups, I'm still very likely to get banned.

3-The only way to play backups without getting banned is not to use a gamertag/xbox live in any way ??? :(

Thanks You have answered many of the questions of 14 year old in the desert, new to the 360 scene
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Well, it's not your account which would be banned, only the console. So you can use the same gamertag, and even the same hard drive if your console did happen to get banned. You would just have to use them on a different console to access LIVE.

No. Once a console is banned, it can't access anything related to LIVE.

What about the console is BANNED? I had a dead xbox 360. I'm wondering what component is banned, so maybe I could do a swap if my new 360 ever got banned. Make sense?

Yea, makes sence. But it's the console ID which is banned.

I wonder if the console ID could be swapped out with another, then... that's what I'm wondering... and where that info is saved. I'm sure it's hard to do, but I wanna know HOW hard and if a dead 360 could help out a banned 360.

Well you can swap your console ID, but the dead 360 is useless. You'd need a working 360 with a working dvd drive.

Not sure about that. A lot of people have said that the GAME ITSELF may be what causes you to get banned... if it's an original game, you may be fine... but don't quote me on that... just what I THOUGH i've heard

even if it is the game, it still logs the information when he plays his burnt games offline, and as soon as he gets online with the original its going to send all that info to MS, and will lead to a banning eventually.

The first post said that the game information is saved to the 360 and then microsoft can see all of that info.

Ok what if I take my harddrive off. And I disconnect the network cable. Then put in a backup of a game.

That disc info wont be able to be saved anywhere.

Then after i play the backup, say I wanna play COD4 on lIVE. Can I turn console off, put hard drive on, and connect network cable.

If i did all of this would i still get banned?

information (logs) are not stored on the hard drive, they are stored else where on the console...........so ya playing a backup off-line still runs the risk.... as soon you hook up to live those logs will be sent:P you can try all the 1337 tricks you want but you still can't lower the risk of being banned....well i suppose the less live connections you make....

Your achievements will update when you switch from your backup console to your LIVE console.

Right now, people are switching between their banned console and their LIVE console without getting the LIVE console banned. MS only bans the console id, so if you don't flash your LIVE console, you shouldn't get banned from sharing the hdd.

great post BHE very informative you didn't really leave anything out...
in my opinion if you play on live with the backup its just a chance you take if your really that paranoid about it do not go onlive.
do not ask any questions and dont be mad or angry if you get banned like you said take it like a man.
my first console was banned and i had to go out to buy a new one,i have a bad outlook on the whole thing lol.
i look at it this way if my console gets banned i just sell it for about 200 dollars and go buy a new one, yea i guess its a waste but my second one isn't banned yet so i guess time will tell..

PS
i only use backups online i create with a sammy drive and not the downloaded ones.(dont trust other people)

Ok I'm new to this forum, I have tried to read most of the posts and see what was going on. Well first off I'm not trying to brag but I have successfully downloaded GTAIV and have burned it "stealth". Before I pop it in I wanted to find out the facts and this seems to be the best place I have found. Now I have disconnected my hard drive and my ethernet cable. I want to play the game without it being saved or sent out, but from what I have read it will get stored onto the system board, so in other words if I plug my system back into Live it will get sent out and ban my console?
Thank You

It is BELIEVED that disc info may be stored. No one can confirm nor deny it.

So you just have to decide if you're willing to take a chance.

Correct. There is no way to play with the possibility of being detected.

Well, we can't say "no chance". When you use an original, the modded firmware works just like the original. It is believed by C4E, Opa, and some others (these guys developed the modded firmware, so they'd know best) that MS is not able to read the drive firmware due to how the hardware was developed.

And that seems pretty feasible. If they could detect the firmware, everyone would be banned. But then again, no one knows what MS is working on now towards future detection.

So as it stands, if you have only one console and it has modded firmware, your safest way to play on LIVE is to use your originals.

Great Post...Personally I've been using my originals online and backups offline...Haven't had any problems...but i guess that may just be me...I don't think M$ can tell if you've played a backup in the past if that's what you're asking...i think they can only try to read info on the game currently playing...but then again i'm just a Newbie...

Alot of people I know who live here in Nova Scotia Canada haven't been banned since the start of the flashing. I here alot more cases of americans being banned rather then canadians. I wonder if its because there is more microsoft offices in the USA?
