I have a movie and a trailer. The trailer works fine, the movie doesn't. The trailer will play over Tversity if I rename the extension to .m2t and it will play if I tranfser it via external HDD.
Attempting to play the movie through Tversity doesn't work, no matter what the extension is, I've tried .m2ts, .m2t, .mpg, .mpeg and .mp4 and none work. It returns as 'the data is corrupted'. The movie plays fine on my PC.
Does it have anything to do with the audio? I noticed the audio is DTS-HD on the movie whereas the trailer is ac3...
Try using a program called tsmuxer. That will split it and re-encode it for you and only takes a few minutes to do. But like bgw said, make sure the audio is AC3 and that its set to 4.1, as most films are high 5.1.
