It's basically a video instruction about running a fan test on your PS3 which also blows out the dust and essentially cleaning it up. What's nice is there's very little effort involved, so you can actually do this every day. Just a warning though, it's only for 40GB models -- doing this on other models will cause the unit to explode???

Sony confirmed that its a safe way to get all the dust out of the 40gig model but they didn't say anything about the 20/60/80gig models; but its pretty obvious that their method are very unsafe.

Hopefully they will make the fan test available to all models in a firmware update in the near future, until then don't risk doing it unless you have a 40gig and even then don't do it more than like once a month.

Cool little trick. I wonder how come we have to hear from a guy who found it out and not from Sony if its so much of a safe method for the 40 gigs?

Not to discredit the person who found this out first.

I may actually try it but I dont have that much dust and just got the 40 gig in october.
