When do you guys assume that the PS3 will drop in price down to the scale of a PS2? I think it will take until 2011. I think it will go down in price a little a few months after GTA4 comes out. I hope GTA4 is all time PS3 game.

It will never be $100. The components cost too much and that would be about 16% of the initial cost. The PS3 has only dropped to 40%. Having said that, I can't see the PS3 being down to 300 anytime soon, not even 400 for an 80GB.

Speculation now is that a price drop is suppose to happen this summer. I know a fella that works in retail and he has told me that they have in fact received a memo from head office that there is a price drop this summer. He may be BS-ing me but what does he have to gain by lying to me about a price drop. I personally think that a price drop is possible as the 360 dropped in price and Europe and I was just at WAL MART and the 360 holiday bundle pack(could be pro. I'm not sure) dropped $50.
I know that PS3's are cheaper to manufacture now thna it used to be but Sony (gaming division) is still in the red and has not re-coup what money they lost on the PS3.
