I am using imgburn to try and make a copy of an xbox 360 game that I downloaded. I wanted to know if it matters if I use the .iso or if I use .dvd file? I had read somewhere that if you use the .iso that this is a quick way of being banned from online. So your suppose to use the .dvd file. Any truth to this cause some of my game s don't have a .dvd file and I don't want to be banned from xbox live
Thanks

please search next time before you ask questions already answered...
Regardless, you will want to burn the .dvd file. I am assuming you already know that the game is stealth patched and you checked it? But when it comes to which file to burn, burn the .dvd file. You need to brun it by the .dvd file, or create one because it will set the layer break for the game.
Also, I guess you could always manually set the layerbreak if you were using imgburn or so.

Ok so I've read through many tuts and I have managed to successfully get a .ISO onto my comp using hotswap method. However one thing I still can't figure out is where to get the SS.bin files. I mean I saw ways of doing it with a Samsung drive by taking apart ones 360 but I don't wanna do that. Anyone know of another way I can get the SS.bins of my games. Honestly I don't even know what it is but apparently I need them when using ssmerger.
I have an LG DVDrw DL and a Pioneer 110D DVDrw DL
If I were to use clone cd and burn the .iso would it work. I read that I needed the SS.bins but I don't know of any other ways to get it. I am so confused please someone help.
Thank you for this great tut, but sorry for my lack of intelligence lol
O and yes my 360 is modded and no I can't dload them from the internet due to download limitations (sux I know)

THank you for this tutorial and for those that have contributed to the thread.
I have read all 4 pages and haven't seen anyone ask this question:
When I open Nero or Clone CD (I have both and have tried both) I am unable to open the boot-rom file, which I understand is how I need to burn the image.
If I burn as an ISO in Nero the file is there and will burn but not work. If I switch to DVD-ROM (Boot) it won't find a file.
When I use Clone CD there is only the default "files of type" (Clone CD Image control file) and I am unable to change to a different file type. My understanding is that I then use DVDInfoPro to change this, but when I launch DVDInfoPro I get a different menu structure at the top and was unable to figure out how to change it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I've read the tut and alot of other threads without finding a solution for my problem. My DVD-burner is a NEC 3500.
I've tried burning several times at 2x and 4x but the process stop at 50%!!!
I am trying to burn with a patched .dvd file that I got from usenet.
I'm using Gigatain DVD+R DL 8x media. I'm burning with ImgBurn and tried setting the book type for DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM (I don't know if the supports auto setting the the book type). I've tried with CloneCD but it stops at 50% as well...
Here's the log from ImgBurn, from when it fails. Really hope you guys can help me
Thanks

You should already have the .iso either by downloading it or ripping it from your own disc. Place it in your desktop for ease of finding it.
You may also need the .dvd file which contains the layer-break info. But if you have already set the layer-break in the ImgBurn settings then you don't need it.

When i use Clonecd. i use write image right? well I do that and when i browse for file I dont know where to rip iso. In instructions all it says is
" At this point you have a patched ISO with or without a .dvd file, you will now be burning either the ISO or .dvd , if you patched the ISO your self then dont use the .dvd unless you generated it after the patch.... "
But where do you get the iso or .dvd after you insert your Game your are copying. DO i read image. and that copies it? Because it says to use write image but that would be overwriting the game.

you can play offline or online. But you can be risked of being banned from online if you are playing with a modded 360. To lessen the chances of being banned make sure to keep your iXtreme firmware up to date.

If you never connect your 360 online then you will never be banned off of Live of course. But once you connect online then you will get detected and have a possibility of a ban.

So basically your saying if you play offline. then next time you sign online you have a chance of being detected even if you are not playing copied game.

Correct. If your console is modded then you will have a chance of being banned from Live. Doesn't matter if it's an original retail copy or a backup.

kbrown, I think you need to ask questions that have not been answered before. This forum is filled with tons of people who have asked the same questions. Please read/search before you ask, because if things keep going the way they have been with you, chances are, the question has been asked 10 times before.
