I actually love using clonecd. I think it is really easy to use. But, I think it would be a good thing to show people both ways how to do it. Good idea.

need jtag help? Xbox 360 console repair? PM me or chat

great read, found out loads here on what i need to do & saved me wasting loads of discs :)

got the new xbox modded
got my verb dl discs
read these tut, would not work lol, so back to reading here.
glad i found out on 1st disc that my pc dvd/rw wont support bitset.
so will be looking to get one monday.

read loads of reviews over on cdfreaks about good drives, most drives they have reviewed are kinda older models than what most shops dont stock now. so any 1 here point me in write direction of good RVD/RW that can support bitset or good drive that has modded firmware about that could add.
also being sata would be a bonus.
plus have read (but with Conflicts) that most poineer drives have DVDROM bitset as standard. any shed light on this.

Ok, so this all looks good for windows, but how do I do this with a Mac, specifically using Toast? I tried burning the .dvd file, but it didn't burn the game from the .iso. What am I doing wrong and how do I need to fix it? BTW, I already verified that the game is stealthed.

no.

read the 'how to copy games' stickies, then you will know what you have to have/use to copy games.

It looks like this thread is a little old but i've been keeping an eye on it. Recently i got my xbox prepared for just this experiment - a christmas present no less - and i've been trying to do some burning. While i was out over christmas i grabbed up six Dual-layer DVDs (at $4 each they aren't cheap, but its hard to complain). But i think i'm burning coasters. I get 'games disc unreadable' errors. I thought maybe it was the Layer Break, but i set that same as in the .dvd file. I set it to booktype and all. But it wouldn't work.

I figured i must have just screwed up since i'm new to this and all, so i go to burn another one (i decided to use imgburn this time, less messing around with three programs heh - and i set the layer break, i changed the booktype, i hit go and i get this error

Cannot set the layer break position when burning DVD-R DL media.

Then i thought "hold on a tick", something looks wrong here and i checked back on the tutorial, then back to the error, and back to the tut, and, sure enough, its noted you need DL DVD+R.

Looking back at the box i have here, what DVDs do i have? DL DVD-R

I guess thats a waste of about $25 (it doesn't sound like much but for some people...), is there any way around this, using DL DVD-R instead of DL DVD+R discs? It i can't set the layer break position when using these DVDs, are they entirely wasted (for this purpose)?

Thanks for any help

from what i know you have to use dl dvd+r. and i see that you are now using imgburn i have found this program to be the best for backing up your xbox 360 games. also i use verbatim dl dvd+r they are the BEST

Yeah, i got verbatim discs, they are a little more expensive but i thought it'd be worth it. I guess i'll run out and get some specifically +r discs later this week

Backup games already on DVD+R DL
Please let me know what else do I need in order to copy them to another DVD+R DL blank Discs.
Thanks.

A firmware update may help but I can't find a good link for 1.F3 - Mad Dog ceased in 2008. Try googling for it you may find one.
I'd use lower rated dual layer verbs on this drive - 4x or under. Actually I'd probably just buy a new one at newegg.com (if you are in the US) - they run $35 or less. Pioneer or LiteOn are good.
Others here can give you some other good ones.

Well you can also crossflash it with the NEC firmware - see this link:
http://forum.xbox-scene.com/lofiversion/...on/t672190.html
But I don't think that will solve the problem - the drive makes it through both layers but bombs at the very end. Plus looks the latest firmware even for the NEC doesn't support the 'newer' dual layer media.

my dearest apologizes, this guide needs an img burn section, i had completely forgotten, the images will be loaded below the first guide, book typing is much easier with image burn on drives that dont automatically booktype, i'll put it up within a few days i have the images made somewhere :/

I get a few errors lately. I burned one disk just fine, but the next three have been coasters. Very expensive coasters. At first i couldn't get it to work with CloneCD so i tried Imgburn, i had a little trouble but, funnily enough, DCD Decypter worked. I got my first disk burned that way.

Problem is, since i got that one to work, nothing else has. I burned one with DVD Decrypter and it failed at 43 percent, i missed the error. Then i tried with CloneCD, somce issue, 43%. Lastly, just now i tried with IMgburn, and it didn't work then either. Only this time i managed to write down the error, the first one and the last one, so maybe someone can make heads or tails out of this. This first error SHOULD have been the first clue, i only notice it when using Imgburn/DVD Decypter though

"DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_lOCK_vOLUME) Failed!
Device [4:0:0] Lite-On DVDRW LH-20A1S 9L08 (G:) (ATA)
Unable to love volume for exclusive access

Reason: Access is denied"

After this, at about 43% (and again when i tried it after the error, at 1%, but i assume thats because the disk is partly filled and is now a coaster) i get this error.

I/O Error!
Device [4:0:0] Lite-On DVDRW LH-20A1S 9L08 (G:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 2A 00 00 00 C1 E0 00 00 20 00

Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 00 00

Any ideas what the hell is going on?

PS: If you didn't guess i'm using verbatium disks

Jason3404-

it seems that you will need to use better media such as Verbatim Made in Singapore. Try running the .iso through ABGX.
