Convert MKV to AVCHD for PS3 and Blu-ray Help needed

Hi guys

I have read the guide for doing this but is there anyway i can nake the finished coverted file fit on dvd5 as i dont want the extra cost of dvd9 blanks.

Three things could help here;

1) At the tsMuxeR (latest version) point you could trim the opening production studio credits and the end credits, this might now be enough though.

2) You could convert the audio stream to a lesser bitrate using eac3 with eac3toGUI, if your track is DTS 1536kb/s converting down to AC3 640 kb/s would do the trick. Or try step one along with converting your AC3 640 kb/s track to 384 kb/s.

3) Recode the video stream with AviSynth and MeGUI to a predetermined file size.

Keep an eye out for sales, I get my DVD9's for less than a dollar each in spindles of 25.
