Hey guys, I'm getting too bored at home and I started lookin into game consoles. I originally wanted to get 360 but I see everywhere they'r breaking down, this not working, that one's banned, this is overheating, that has some red circle error..... it goes on and on, scarrying me into buying one. Now how is PS3 standing ? Is it the same ? Just wanna spend the money and don't worry it might crash. What's the difference between 40gb and the 80gb other than the hdd space ? and is there any mod for backing up games for ps3 yet ?

There is a bar on the top of this page, it says "Search". I suggest you use it.

Yea, we've gone over this thing before here. I suggest you do a search. Typing out all the advantages of PS3 against the 360 would take too long and might cause some flaming. I will say this, though. The PS3 is far more reliable than the XBOX 360. You need not worry about that. Of course, sometimes sh!t happens, but it's not common.

It's incredibly obnoxious for someone to start a thread like this considering that all the virtues of the PS3, the xbox, or anything else for that matter, is at your fingertips.
Glad to see this useful thread though.

The choice is even more easier than before
XBox - HD-DVD support but you have to buy an external drive for it.
PS3 - Blue-ray support drive already built in.
And seeing as Blue-ray has won this format war. The answer is PS3, you get a gaming console and a blue-ray player at the same time.
In you need more of a reason, GTA4 multiplayer is so much fun!!!!
80GB PS3 have more usb ports, I think 4, as well as some PS2 compatibility. 40GB has 2 usb ports PS1 compatibility but no PS2 compatibility.

ANeophyte you got 2 days for that, and that is a warning to others. If you have nothing to say other than "search" don't say anything at all. Simple.

LOL if you wanted that then you should have also posted on the Xbox forum, as I wouldnt think many XBox fans would be visiting the Playstation forums :P

Telling someone to search is just a waste of bandwidth. Please just don't post. I really hope you like your PS3, man. I'd recommend some stuff on the playstation store. Echochrome, Flow, and Everyday Shooter are my favorites. All of the demos are free too. There's a lot of stuff going on at the playstation store, hit it up.

PS3 Simply is the total package. If your looking at a game console and make sure you get your moneys worth.
If you need more comparison I suggest looking at Wikipedia.

Enjoy your PS3! It really is a remarkable piece and this will definately be its year. Hopefully you have a good HDTV (preferably 1080p) to play it on though. I currently play on 720p DLP, but am going to be getting a 1080p LCD hopefully this weekend! Cant wait for GTAIV in all its High Def Goodness.
Metal Gear Solid coming out pretty soon. And looks like Killzone 2 got pushed back yet again, so about giving up on that one.
