i dont know what went wrong but last night i was watching indiana jones on the ps3 when i woke up i took the disc out and tryed to put in rock band the icon never showed under game i tried putting in a bluray movie but no luck with that eather it will play regular dvds but no blu-ray discs. does anyone know how to fix this?
Try messing around with the BD/DVD settings something may have gotten switched off, or if all else fails call sony, something bad may have happened to the laser, but I can't be sure. I hope the first choices has some results :).
Could i get help on a problem? i dont have wireless but i have my movie muxed and ready to be transfered to ps3 but iv tried a usb stick 8gb and a media player but both tell me i do not have enough disk space when i have 38gb free ,is it because does not support the file and if so any suggestions to help me transfer would be gratefully appreciated thanks...
well if you have a 40gb ps3 then try the "ps3 fan test". this test would get rid of all the dust in your ps3, some which would be on the laser causing problems to read the disks.
if you have a different ps3 like the 60gb then get a vacuum cleaner and go around the grills of the ps3.

hope this helped
a fan test isnt going to help make the player work again lmao
I read somewhere that the old blu-ray players burn out. mine did and i sent it back to sony. My warranty was up so it cost $150. Since i got my new one my ps3 has only froze once. I remember when everyone was talking about GTA freezing their system. I, luckily, never had that problem and i think it was because of the new ps3 sony sent me back.
