Calling all Box Super experts.
I have a Box since Oct 2008 (in Dublin).
Signal has been scrambled since 18 Dec when N*L changed frequencies or something. I have reflashed with the fix.
However all I can receive is 10 channels: Setanta Irl, NASN, Extreme Sports, UK Living, RTE 1 + a few music channels. Cannot even receive other terrestrial channels vie Box .. even though I get them on the TV direct !
I have tried all possible codes on nagravision, EMU key is on, provider is set at N*L.
I have done auto-search with all these permutations.
Am I missing something ?
Has anyone had similar experiences ?
Can anyone help ?
Thanks + Best Regards,
Joe 90.

Have you done a factory reset and rescanned in all your channels?
Then go to secret menu, turn emu on, exit to s*y 2 and leave to update. When it says auto updating and starts giving a percentage leave it on that channel (some people say s*y 2, some people say s*y indie or premiere, some say the god channel, whichever one has a good signal for you), it might take a while to kick in.
Also make sure you have no splitters on your cable, that the feed is going directly into your box.
If that doesn't work, go into the secret menu, press default ok, turn emu off, exit out, turn box off at back for a minute, turn on again, switch emu back on and try again.

Hi I was just wondering if its possible to get the frequencys for the new discovery investigation channel for the box. I done scans and it wont pick it up, so I want to do it manually. I live in Celbridge Kildare and my provider is N*L, and could someone also instruct me on how to do it,
thanks in advance

Thanks Evastar,
I have another TV upstairs which comes off a splitter in the attic.
I will unplug this and try again - is that what you mean ?
After doing factory reset/scan - do i need to change nagravision settings ?
Is it very important which channel you go to after doing re-scan ?
I have always gone to S*Y Sprots - which is what some people advise.
Thanks again,
Joe 90.

You need the feed coming directly without being split because the box needs a strong signal to unscramble. If your signal comes in through your attic yes, take the splitter off the line and see if that makes any difference.
After you do the factory reset and scan go into the secret menu and turn emu on, that's all you should have to do.
The reason i said to do a rescan is some of the channels have moved and this means you could leave it on trying to autoupdate all day and it will never work if it is on one of those channels. If s*y sports doesn't do it for you, try s*y 2 a lot of people in dublin have had success with that.
If none of this works, let me know what fix you used, you might have the wrong one.

Hi, you diamonds got me going with the December updates on Boxing Day and everything is still fine. It's just that, having read various posts in other threads i wonder if i should be getting the s*y movie channels? I didn't get them before the box went off, but i did used to get them on the 'doctored' n*l box that i used to use a couple of years ago. You'll be aware that some time back n*l changed the way they sent the movies to their 'proper' boxes, which meant that the 'doctored' boxes lost them. This happened to me and i got used to not having them, hence me not thinking about them on this box.
I have The Box PVR and am on n*l in the north west, and the question is, should i be getting them? If not, c'est la vie, but if i should, can someone point me in the right direction to start finding them? They don't show AT ALL when i scan. Everything else does, the ppv and even the soft porn, which comes on at night on some of those channels that just carry alphanumeric titles, but there's no sign of any of the s*y movie channels. Mov**s 24 yes, T*M yes, F*lm4 yes, Di*ney yes, but no S*y.
Thanks

You can get the S*y movies channels but not the PPV ones.
I think this should read not the movies on demand ones.

When you say the north west what do you mean, galway, sligo, donegal, or somewhere in northwest england, if UK please give nearest town, that way somebody in your general area can post frequencies for you to do a manual scan. The other way to check the frequencies is to go to that particular channel on your normal n*l box (if you have one), press help and the frequency information, symbol rate etc will appear for you.
You should get all the s*y movie channels, premiere, indie, drama etc except the ppv ones, you will only get the ppv channel if someone in your area has ordered a particular movie etc. Best way to get ppv is to wait until a big fight is on and then scan the channel in. When nothing is being broadcast it will show as blank/channel scrambled, but when someone in your area orders a movie/fight the channel will show up again.

Evastar,
Tried all that.
Take off splitter.
Factory reset.
Auto scan all channels - its picking up about 170.
Menu 1570 - EMU on.
etc ..
Keeps coming back with just same 10 channels only: RTE 1, Senanta Irl, NASN, ++
Any more advice ?
Thanks,
Joe 90.
