Joseph, if it's finding about 170 channels when it searches what happens when you go to them? Is it telling you that it is a scrambled or bad channel or no signal?

If you go into menu down to system info that will tell you what you have on box if you have api ver : 8.02, try 8.04 from eamos library as this was brought out 24/12/08 to sort boxes that were having a lazy update or the update staying at 0%,might help :)

When i turn EMU on, come out of menu and go to S*y 2 ... it says 'Data is being downloaded 0%' then goes up to 240% and keeps repeating itself !!
I've also tried S*Y Sports, Indie .. same result.

If 8.02 is the FW try 8.04 it might help, on my box super 8.02 worked no probs but for others it did'nt and 8.04 worked for them :)
Have to go out now for an hour or so will check back and see if your sorted :)

lads I had the same problem on friday would start to update somtimes reach 140% or less and just when you thought u had it back to 0% and wouldn't move, what u need to do is go through every channel one by one and get a strong one that the update will kick in and pray, its trial and error I got it 2 work on discovery but only after 2 hours of trying every other channel. lads.... i changed the standard 4 digit code on my starview and cant remember the code.... any ideas how i can break or reset it? i need it to get into the menu to input the latest codes etc.... cheers

1668 is the 4 digit for everything apart from Cas System, you need 1570 for that okay.

As per anto's post at top of page, you need 8.02 or 8.04. You have 8.00, so that will never autoroll.
You need to reflash the box with the correct firmware from eamo's library.

hi guys,
i flashed a clone and was waiting on my new remote from flea bay, it arrived today but i cannot get the secret menu up, API ver 2.57-E,
Boot ver 7.0, 16.Aug.2006. is this the right flash or has it not taken? is this why i cant get the secret menu to play with the emu setting?

ther is a pin code 0000 as standard, is this where i open parental control then enter 2004, if so i have tried , if this is not what you meant, then help please

No, just Press Menu and then Highlight Parental Control and Press OK, enter 2004 and then press the INFO button and enter 2004 again and it should open. Just remember that the numbers will not appear.

one last question, please malci,
i got bored(tired really) half way through, i have just discovered how to input the c*des manually, would that defeat the purpose of having autoroll feature? this is my first one of these S/V boxes and i know that on my replay if i wanted to know if it had flashed right, then i would put in a bad c*de and let it sort it all out.

u need to get box to update,if u manually input data autoroll may not work.if u find a channel with stronger signal should start updating within 15 secs,if not try another.
one thing puzzles me why u bought a dinosaur?does it say starview on front or what?as there are 4 different models each having their own firmware need to be sure.

Turn the b0x off at the back for about 20 secs wheelo, then turn back on & go to s*y two & hopefully it will kick in.

First off,
Malci, Cactikid and Noely f, thanks for your kind help last night.
the box has now found all c*des it needed, my strongest channel was(after trying disc. turbo, sky 2, sly sports and all the other mentioned in this thread) channel 94 playboy(i started at channel 1).
but not to worry, eh, all's well that ends well.

oh by the way cacti,
it is a clone S/V 1 and I didn't buy it, my mate upgraded to a sly dish and had no use for the S/V(wouldn't accept the money affered), so it came to live in my house, and even free dinosaurs are welcome in my house,LOL.
