Thanks guys. scanned all 37 frequencies. turned emu on before the scan. got 147 channels in total but it wont update for me. usually works on s*ky prem. do i just try them all until one works?

lol tell me about it. I am on API Ver 4.57e_E. Just checked. cant get it to update. think it might be a long night going through them all. Don't want to keep you, so this will be my last question. how long should I give each channel for the update before i give up and try another one?

Should be showing V4.57 in System Information, that's the latest for Starview 2 The Box as regards the AU. 22 DEC 2008.
EDIT:- See you have the latest, it is a pain finding the best channel to AU on, have to go through them one by one, Discovery channels even the God channel I am afraid.

Sorry nobby3ie - as you can see I did edit the post, was in between threads, as said it will update but you need a strong signal Channel, but why not try Setting The Default Key, it might give it a kickstart.

sometimes i run back a few chanels and then advance up to sly2 wait 15 secs should start it moving,even powering off and on sometimes works.no splitters

4music sorted it for me! back in business although i'm still missing 402 frequency channels.
this is a great site with great people on it. I'm eternally grateful chaps. pity i missed the footy tonight though!

maybe that frequency has had a breakdown maybe give it a day or two and manual scan on that frequency.

there is propably a problem in your area,have you checked your basic channel's with the coaxil plugged into your tv?

Thanks for getting back so quick. I'm watching basic channel tv as we speak. There doesn't seem to be a problem.
I had a lot of problems.
Solution: Flash with latest firmware: 8.04
Try searching under 'CHORUS' if NTL not working.
Then usual: Auto scan, EMU on etc ...

Hi there,
Sorry about this, everytime i feel like i understand it, it goes.
Last night my Starview 2 box went. No channels, and when i went to s*y of S*y Sports 2 to allow it to update, it would run up past 100%, then 110% and so on. No channels.
I did a factory reset but no good. Now it just says scrambled or bad channels.
Worse again, it now says
Ver 4.54_E
Boot Ver 7.0

I had it flashed by a friend after christmas to get it going again after it did the same thing (i think everyone got cut off before christmas).
Couple of things;
Do i need to get that flash done again ? (Does a factory reset delete the flashed information).
Can it be done without a cable, as my computer won't recognise my box when i connect it?
Help!

Factory reset does not delete the Firmware, and yes you need a NULL MODEM lead to flash the box, and the version of Firmware that your Friend put on was not the updated version, it is 4.57 you want on The Box, and you will find it in Eamo's FTA Library.

Thanks mate,
I bought a cable which i believe is a null modem cable....it fits the back of the box and also the side of my laptop.
However, the computer doesn't seem to recognise the box and i can't get it to.
Any thoughts on that....if i could get it to "see" the ox, i could do the rest

Flipper, I had the same problem at first. You need to allocate a serial port, usually COM 1. You can find out how to do it here on Celtics third post.

Thanks for that,
I've connected my box to the computer by the null modem cable, but an icon for the box dosen't appear anywhere on the screen. I'll assume thats normal.
I set the "communications port" to Com 1. downloaded the firmware for my box (The Box 2) and extracted the BIN file to the desktop.
I then opened the loader that came with firmware i downloaded, set the serial port to Com 1 and tried to download the Bin File from the desktop.
Nothing happens and then it says "Flash update fail"
Help anyone?

you will have to get a nul modem to usb converter for it to work on a laptop, and change the port to port one.however it will work on a pc tower no problem.

Hi all,
I have a universal remote control (from Lidl) and cannot get it working on The Box Super. It is possible at all ? Has anyone had similar experience?
Also wondering how I might record programmes from The Box on my VCR ?
Its currently connected directly into TV using ariel and scart leads.
All tips welcome.

But is anyone missing there racing uk channel.. just telling me scrambled or bad channel.. i have tried 402 freq.. but nothing..anyone got any ideas how to solve my prob?? I have factory reset my box n have all other channels back perfect just that 1..

if your in Ireland you won't get it back as a lot of channels have disappeared due to nagra 3,expect all the channels to follow suit very shortly.
