Des, I flashed the box using the link you privided (thanks)

I now have The BOX Super:

API ver: 6.01e_E
Boot ver: 8.0
7 Mar. 2008

Turned off did a factor reset and then automatic scan on both NTL and Chorus and found nothing!

Maybe I shouldnt have done a factor reset before I searched?

I will flash again maybe?

I notice when I turn on the box "ld80" appears for a second and then "on". Is that normal?

Also when I flash I only download "App File only"
I didnt select the "Channel Data File"

if you upladed the 6.01 that should work, thats the one i have,
did you turn the emu on?

A factory reset clears all previous data, but the new download would have got it all back!

Well latest SV3s with extra TV output should use 7.09, older versions should work as you say with 6.01. However in this case I would reflash with its original version 6.00 and see where it goes.

But before flash factory reset, turn off box for a minute at back switch then back on. Then reflash.

I just reflashed it worked fine. it rebooted automatically

i went straight to autoscan NTL.

Only TP2 and TP14 gave me an OK, the rest failed.

I should get something regardless shoudln't I?

I turned it off waited a min, watched the display it showed the time
then on (no ld80 this time) then selected English then Installation
automatic scan NTL - same story again only TP2 and TP14 was ok.

Does the fact that I get 2 OK's mean anything?

I turned it off at mains.

Turned it back on again watched display: "Ld80" appeared for a sec and then "on" and back to language selection again...?

It suggests using GTRom_Super_8.00e.exe to get rid of Ld80 problem?
Should I try it or try 6.0 or one then other?

Solves it for some try 8.00 if you like, I said revert back as you had no problems with 6.00.

TP 2,3,4,6,7 worked (instead of the TP 2 & 14 I was getting)

Can only find a 7.05 will I try that?

i haven't watched it much but since 7.09 has been on it it hasn't rebooted so far. good sign.

press menu then type 1570 on the remote and a screen pops up. turn on emu.

Ok I have flashed 705e and 709eBETA and no luck.

maybe I am doing something wrong.

I reset to factor defaults.
Power off and then switch off.
wait a minute.
switch on.
Click download on the PC to flash.
It reboots and then I select English
Then Installation
Change Cable network to NTL
and automatic scan.

I have also tried the scan by turning on EMU and it makes no difference..it that option just for decrypted channels..I should get something even if it's off?

Should I keep flashing all versions I can find until one works?

I seem to have tried all the versions in that directory.
6.00, 6.01, 7.05, 7.09BETA and 8.00

You should get FTA channels even with it off e.g RTE. Which firmware gave you the most TPs?

did you try pressing set default key. exiting to a channel and waiting for an update or does it not find any?

Can't find any channels.

I think 8.00 gave me the most TPs.

I put the cable back in tv just to check and I can see all basic channels so not cable.

I'm stumped!

There is a channel dump file for the SV3 on N** Dublin in Eamos. Its a bit outdated, (not by much though and thanks to the person who uploaded it), you could do a factory reset. Then download this to your box and see if this gives you more channels.
