Hi,

I'm using the eurovox ex 1000 sl for the last three weeks with choxxs Cork but there is a problem with the box freezing regularly. It might be perfect for an hour or so and then it starts to act up again which is becomming very annoying. Just wondering is it a known problem with the software and will there be a fix for the problem?

Cheers.

@ vidou - When I flashed the EX5000 it flew in and all channels were the same. However, when I flashed the Max V it lost everything and had to do a fresh installation and powerscan. Just can't see what I did different - but it just took 20 mins instead of 2. Out of interest if anyone knows why I would love to know for my knowledge base ;-)

Hi folks, as a beneficiary of the wonderful knowledge this site has given me, im just wondering what the situation is- was there legal action or some other event that had those threads closed down?

Thanks

Don't know how you do it all so quickly.

@ macster79 - I had a broadly similar problem six months ago. I solved it by sorting the inbound cables & connections; renewing/tightening etc. just a thought; and it may be worth a try

I flashed 4 EX1000Sls yesterday for mates - 2 worked straight away but one took about 5 mins (had me worried) i have a max v which I didn't flash because I wanted to see if there were any more keyrolls what would happen. Sure enough I got in at lunchtime and my max v was froze. Flashed it about half an hour ago and it also took 3-4 mins to update - while I was flashing it I stuck a mates Ex1000Sl on to see if it still worked (one of the ones I flashed yesterday) and it had the 'code updating' message - Left it on and the picture came back before I had finished flashing my own max v. So to give you a very longwinded answer it just seems to be totally random. Just keep fingers and everything else crossed and hope all now settles down for a long, long time. (I've been keeping about 8 different people on air with latest codes over the last few days and now they all want their boxes flashed) spose they'll all have forgotten by Xmas!! Could I just add my own personal Thank You to all involved in getting us back 'on air.'

Just had an afterthought mate - did you save (upload) your channel data before flashing the max and then download after flashing. I think this is maybe where you went wrong.

I did go at my inbound cables but found no real problem and then I brought the box to a friends house and found the same problem there when I plugged in my box, and they were using a starview and had no problems so I can only think that it must be a software problem. It could be my location or povider. Where abouts are you?

Cheers for the reply.

Flashed my EX5000 last night, working great thanks.

Just had a look, I've got Emulation Enabled and EMM Capture Disabled.

I can't remember if this is correct, and can't find it earlier in this thread.

If you search the forum first you will find what you are looking for.

Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

I did exactly the same for both flashes - on neither did I upload/download the CDF stuff - but on the first one immediately after the flash it was good to go. Still don't understand the different behaviour. Like I inferred - it's not a problem more that I'd like to know ;-) (Thanks for getting back to me)

Yea I know what you mean - I wonder if the new boxes are able to retain the favs in the memory during flashing? The max definitely needs the channels to be saved otherwise everything is wiped and as you found out it needs a rescan.

Yeah - It's not so much about retaining the Favs - I always run the boxes on defaults....the new one has a neat button anyway to quickly access *Sports* favs - which is the only one that I use. So both boxes are on defaults as per the very first install & powerscan. Glad you pointed out the CDF stuff again 'cos I gotta do a few boxes around the family and they are all Max V flavour - so your pointer will save me time on the re scan. Thanks again (You know what the ad says - *it's good to talk*) Cheers

Don't know - Had my head in the sand since about 10 o'clock last night. I wasn't one who booed - bit of self discipline here - but the whole thing is gettin' pretty annoying (While he who should be obeyed repeatedly stresses that we are unbeaten at home; I wish we had been hammered once and won two of the other draws).... Bet you're sorry you asked !!!!!.. Cheers
