When I first flashed mine EXACTLY the same happened
I just ran the UFL again and kept hitting the download until it ran through - each time I got the error I escaped and just kept running it again and again. Eventually BINGO !!. Give it a try
Kopitekid Thanks.. for the idea.. tried it several times but still no luck.. HOWEVER found a solution..
In Your PC device manager: hardware profiles, select the COM port with serial/usb adaptor then go into port settings this was set as COM 11 by default, click on advance settings and change this to COM 3 (as was showing on the UFL above), it will say COM3 already in use do you want to continue.. hit YES. Hey presto it will recognise the receiver and you will be able to download ;)
Hope it helps anyone else with the same problem.

Edit, I know a guy who has a clone max V, I will ask him how it went and let you know shortly. :)
Edit; I have asked about the MaxV clone and they do take this Firmware, A friend has managed to do his without problems. I not going to say it's clone friendly as I dont want blaiming if it bricks your box but as before his is working fine with this fix and he deffinatly has a clone ;)
Just tried it again, comes up the same, "Downloading Is Failed",
don't know where to go from here.
The worst thing is, I only realised today I was the one who sold it to him!! So I'm going to feel obliged to replace it at my expense.
Any other ideas? Whats this J Tag I've seen discussed, for fixing damaged boxes, does it apply in this instance??

I'm using the serial cable not USB for uploading firmware. Just downloaded the box-box transfer instructions, says "press the small reset botton", I've got the lid off the clone, can't see any buttons at all.
Going out to my mates see if I can borrow his box to do this transfer, if you let me know about button will try it and let you know later tonight if successfull.

Hi again guys
Last night I posted a question re loss of LFCTV and the Setanta Channels and the general opinion was that it was a transmission problem and some other members also reported the same problem in various parts of the country. Tonight as the channels are still missing I did a Channel Update and these channels have now disappeared. For example what was Setanta 1 is now something nondescript like Channel 4 and the screen is just blank. I suppose this could still be transmission problem but wonder if anyone has any other ideas? Help and advice appreciated as always:-

I have the same problem. Was briefly advised to rescan for them but don't want to mess it all up... I use a Eurovox Max V and Eurovox EX5000. My mate over the road also says the same has happened there..
If it helps anyone more, when putting these channels on it says 'Scrambled Channel'.... No TV Listings show etc... Any pros got any ideas?

Hey HiTec,
Got a question for you re the latest filmware. I flashed my Max V 2008 box yesterday with the then latest 30/11/08 version and am up and running. I note today that a newer version is out with 8% fix dated 1/12/08. This happened to me before with the previous versions in April. I assumed I needed to update with the new software when the 8% fix was released but when I tried to scan I could not find many channels. I read up on the threads here and noted someone had the same problem and had re flashed with the previous non 8% fix software. I did the same and was up and running again. Question is why does the 8% version not work on my box and what is the 8% for???? Keep up the great work. Many thanks. Sparsnips.

Just updated the firm ware on 3 ex5000s and as yet no probs!
All the channels stayed where they were and did not have to rescan.
Noticed a new name in menue "Deepscan" presume this is the new powerscan?
Also the word doc attached to the new firmware relates to the max guide and not the ex5000 but presume both are similar?
Thanks for this fix. Now i dont have to punch nmbers every day!

Sorted HiTeck the channel update does NOT work for this. So for all you people missing Setanta, LFCTV, Rangers TV etc you will have to do a factory default to erase all channels and then a powerscan. They have changed the frequencies for these channels. Now if I could ask a small favour HiTeck - could you gently nudge me in the direction of how to upload a CDF as I uploaded them to the computer after I had done powerscan. Many thanks again - an MBE wouldn't do you justice - Sir HiTeck has a nice noble ring about it....!

Hi mate - I believe all you have to do is run the UFL and browse to your location then download it. Hope that's correct nfo.

Now that you have your Setanta, LFCTV, Rangers TV back can you post the freqs and your location aprox. To find the freqs go the channel and press info twice.

No problem - Symbol rate is 6.887 and the freq for them all is 283.00. Belfast area

Hi Guys.
I seem to be experiencing a problem when I try to flash my box, I have done it successfully before but I'm not sure what is going wrong this time.
I have read the tutorial provided on the front page and gone over my steps but can't seem to find a solution.
Right I have downloaded the new firmw@re for my Blue Eurovox (UFL_MAX_BLUE_30_11_08). I unplug the scart, ariel, and the power cord out of the box and put the 9-pin in and then re-insert the power cable till the box is on stand-by. After I run the software and hit the download button (Big one at the top), the small pop-up comes up (COM 3) I hit START and then nothing. The software sort of becomes disabled wherever I try to click i.e. start again or [x] to close the generic error sound comes up, the progress bar doesn't fill at all and I have to [CTRL][ALT][DEL] End program to stop it.
What am I doing wrong?
