As stated it is because you are on Chorus, and have the correct firmware. If you were on NTL it would not be working, or if you were on Chorus and did not have the latest firmware it would not autoroll.

Mooley,

But NTHELL & Ch^^us are the 1 company, so if they have NTHELL blocked for the boxes surely the Ch^^us ones should be gone too ?

i dont get it, its the 1 company.

You'd be left with a useless box of motherboards and circuitry. Might work as a doorstop but that's about all it'd be good for if you did that. Col23 had the best analogy. Please don't do this unless you actually want to destroy your Eurovox and render it irreparably useless...

...and zzdp2002, please don't type in ALL CAPS, it's the forum equivalent of shouting at the top of your voice in a normal conversation. It will get you noticed quicker (I'm sure this was your intent), but it will garner you the wrong sort of attention. People are actually less likely to respond to your questions if you do this. The reason I responded at all is because I am not cruel enough to let you ruin your Eurovox. Good lad.
P.S. If your Caps Lock key is stuck, I'm sure one of your SHIFT keys is still functional, am I right?! ;o)

Owned by the same company but not broadcasting on the same symbol rate or frequencies, yes chorus will eventually change over to the same encryption as ntl but no one knows when, one of the dbox experts will be able to tell you if they are even testing the N2/N3 streams by using telnet to connect to their DBox2

Its a risk hundreds of people are taking, I dont think anyone can answer you that, put it this way the price of a box is less than 2 months sports/setanta and movie subscription and you can always sell the box to someone in the uk when/if it gos

Hi.
I have problems with my eurovox 2006.
It had the lock led on when i set it up. I followed the guide and everything was successful on installing new firmware, i did a factory reset to my Gateshead symbol rate, Then the lock LED went off.
I then did the powerscan, it found all of the channels but the lock led come back on, also there is no $ sign on the channels that used to have them (SKy Sports etc.)
Anyone have any solutions to this ?
My system information is:
Model: DVB-XC BOX STV
S/W Ver: 1.0 SSC4 Apr 10 2008
H/W Ver: 2.0s
Bootstrap: v002

Thanks in advance guys.

As far as i have Heard.... the chorrrs won't be switching over till closer to christmas as for some reason there is problems for the freq./rates. I don't know exactly why they would be having problems but i have it on good word that its the reason why.

Hi, not sure where all the eurovox experts are, i have a eurovox blue here, so i can give you details of what mine is, then compare against yours.
Front is the silver with vol+ vol- etc, says Euro-vox max top right, DVB logo and Digital Video Broadcasting below.
On underneith there is a label saying RAY384CXA0605002917 (dunno what that is)
The back has connections for, RF IN, LOOP OUT, Audio/R, Video.Audio/L,S/PDIF OUT, TV, VCR, RS232, TV/VCR, ANT, AC90 - 240V
Removing the top cover i have a SAMSUNG TCMU30311PJT, RF IN and LOOP OUT device. The larger chip is an OMEGA STi5518BQC, D1S - VG601438, AA011 VG, TWN AA 610...There is a samsung chip to the right of that, and an Intel chip to the left.
There is a brown board at top left of box which has on it..IT7K_SMART_R1.1, VER. R1.1, 2004.04.27
Hope that was of some help.

A simple search on the search facility would have sorted you out without opening the box however-blue=12 vents from the rf in(tuner)red=8 vent's,vents are the slits on the top of the box, then have a look in here real or clone

Hey guys any solution to my problem ...Scroll up please.
Just used the download at the start of this thread and same thing happens, but on system info screen, S/W ver now reads,
1.0 SSC4 Jun 01 2007

But the lock led still comes on straight away after the factory default is done and it power scans again, When i press factory default the lock led goes out while its on the full power scan screen, but then back on once its scanned.
Thanks

paul, the green lock led does stay on.
scan for channels, once done tune to sly sports 1 and let the box update, DO NOT change channel untill the picture comes in.

also you need to update the firmware on your box, look for the latest firmware on the site.
