Hi All
A plea for help. Have spent the last four hours trying to resolve problem, and feeling a bit thick that I can't, considering all the great information on this site but ...... my problem is that I have done a factory reset on my genuine starview box and since then have not been able to get ANY channel found - I have done obvious things - Slected NTHell in installation,checked my signal, tried resetting again, manual scan, messed around with some of the user setup settings - nothing. I even flashed the latest software today - no joy, I am still stuck in the main menu !
Assuming it is a setting, suspicious of modulator setting - PAL-I Channel38 - not sure if this is right for Dublin - but this may have nothing to do with problem. Appreciate any help ye can give me .......

Hi Guys,
Im new to this Forum and found it upon my many searches on the Internet today trying to see what the hell is going on with my Starview BOX suddenly loosing all its stations last nite...
I presume there is a lot of techys for NTL/Chorus fighting to keep their jobs now that Sky has tld em to get "The BOX" off air as too many customers are not subscribing to SKY anymore.
Anyway, i live in Swords and i have done all the necessary re-installation but all to no avail. I let it try and update itself but went to 220/250% on each occasion and then stopped and back to 0%. Re-install was no joy either so now i turn to you guys and hope that someone out there can give me back my TV for Xmas!! :(

N*L changed the codes and you need to manualy insert the correct codes for the starview to hold the update. edited by ddp

Someone's been busy! There isnt a null moden cable to be got in any store in Dublin today and wont be re-stocked till next week at the earliest - they've all been sold out in the past 2 days!
NTHELL has turned us into a nation of techies....:-)

hi guys. i'm having a problem with loading star***w. i have the gtrom loader ready but i cant find the file i suppoed to put into bin file section. its suposed to be on my pc now but can't see it. can you help

I think the bin file comes embedded in the gtrom file, so all you should need to do is click the 'download' button.

Folks,
i am at my wits end. I have downloaded the latest firmware
(thebox_h20081204_455eE_api.bin) using version 4.03 of GTRom.
i reset the box by going into factory settings and clearing it down.
i powered the box down.
restarted it 10 minutes later and went into installation, then i set the provider to NTell (used the correct three letters on the box), then automatic scan.
it found 184 channels.
i came out (exit, exit, exit)
then pressed MENU then 1570 then turned the EMU key ON.
i have some channels not all. i have RTE1, not RTE2, no BBC channels, i have sky sports xtra. Si i dont know if i have just the free to air channels.
all other channels say data is being updated 0%
i dont know whether to wait or if they are stuck in limbo
any help to sort this would be gratefully received
