this is what i know ... i just bought my wii 1 week ago , NTSC and purchased wii clip d2pro9 and i believe my wii came with firmware 3.3u . i have success playing the downloaded versions of zelda and cocoto racer as of so far .... burnt mario carts many times and black screen. im hoping the only games that will not work are mario karts and super smash bros ,,,, what are tusca signed games? is there a list somewhere ?

there is no list of "trucha" signed games as it could be any game. A trucha signed disk is one that had its content altered in some way and had to be re-signed with the trucha hack to get the wii to accept it as original.

For the last time people, NO UPDATES CAN DETECT OR BLOCK MODCHIPS. I'm really sick of having to say that every flippin day.
And @ leeroy94: Truncha signed games are games that someone edited themselves, so there's no list of truncha games because any game you download from the net could have been truncha signed.

Yes. That IS what I just said. And as proof my wii is firmware 3.3 with a wiikey installed and ALL my backup games and homebrew still work perfectly.

I have been reading all the threads I could before posting so if this was answered somewhere else I apologize my eyes are tired and I may have missed it. I am kinda a noobie so here goes.
I have the WiiKey and am running 1.9s and have had no issues until yesterday. I put in the new Madden back up and got the start screen and when I hit start it gave me the 001 error. I rebooted and got the Wii Update available screen in the start window. I ran the update so I am guessing it went up to 3.3. rebooted and nothing. still shows the wii update screen in the channel when I insert a game. I ran the 1.9s disc a couple more times and no luck, now none of my games will run, orginal or back ups. My Game Cube games work fine however. Anyone have any suggestions? I do not have the Twilight game or homebrew installed.

I would start by running the wiikey recovery disk, it often solves many issues. There's a guide somewhere on the forums. I don't have a wiikey myself but I'm sure someone will be able to help you out if need be.

I ran the recovery disc and then put in SSMBB and it showed up in the channels but when I clicked start I got the dreaded Error 001 unauthorized device detected screen. So I am guessing unless a WiiKey update comes out I am out of luck.

Sounds like you ran the 1.9b recovery disk. Grab the 1.9s wiikey update and install that and you should be good to go.

Thanks for all the help! It took 2 or 3 times running the recovery disc then the 1.9s update then it was playing them. I got the update screen with the new Madden but it ran the update successfully and away it went. Again thanks to everyone for all the great help!

Still no replie to my problem
I Have tried all the Steps to resolve my problem apart from taking my wii apart (I need to order a tri-wing screwdriver).
Could someone please help me is there anything i have missed or could try (i have read treads and don't think iv missed out). I really don't want to waste money and time if its something obvious.
Would it be worth waiting for a homebrew iso loader?
if problems with wiikey. How can the wii run a backup disk without a functioning wiikey, doesnt this make the recovery disk redundant?

My Wii is a US NTSC model bought over a year ago and fitted with the Wiikey. I don't know what version Wiikey it is running. The Wii firmware was pre-3.3u (sorry can't remember what version) and last week I hastily allowed Wall-E to perform an update. Now it is at 3.3u. All my originals and backups still work and everything else seems to be fine. I do have two problems:
1. newer games like Wall-E, The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man present the "error #001" screen.
2. Wiikey 1.9s config and update disks are recognised at load (GC logo plays) but when started give the "an error has occurred" screen. Prior to the Wii update to 3.3u I did get the 1.9s update disk to run up to the "menu" screen but the update would always fail with the "check your connections..." error.
Can someone please tell me what is going on and what I can do?
