i just got my hitachi 0078fk into mode b with slac cd live 2.1, evrything is going alright the cd drive need three eject presses or 1 eject and manual push in. Evrything is fine but when i go into window and load toolbox 4.6 and put a xbox 360 original game inside to get the original firmware, the toolbox will take like3 mins and then says cannot read drive, then when i try again the xbox 360 drive is not there anymore wat did i do wrong. i read the tutorial really carefully and even let the game that i put into the xbox 360 to spin for like 1 mins and it still doesnt work. HELP PLZ

i think i stuffed it up, when i was trying it again last night same as before with no luck, then i just pulled the sata cable off from the computer then suddenly the computer screen went blue with error message. i then trye it today and the slax cd had all these random error buff. anywhere the drive was still in modeb when i restarted my comp, but the same thing happen, when i open toolbox 4.6 and try to gdr the raw dump thing it still gives me "cannot read drive" or something like that. I follow exact step from the tutorial textbook. what did i do wrong is it bcos of my motherboard.

All along you had no native SATA interface on your motherboard or pci card.I think buying this card should solve the problem.

Nevermind. The problem is that you didnt turn off the RAID drivers.I think.Delete the cards drivers and reinstall it.ANd then, make sure to click on the one that says to turn off the raid.

I was talking to someone today at work who knows a bit about comps and he said you can switch them all off. If it doesnt work it is just as easy to enable them again...

I have EXACTLY the same problem as you man! I have done EVERYTHING Textbook has told me todo! Everything worked fine... Put the DVD in the xbox360 drive, it played the DVD on my pc! and then went to Raw dump the firmware and it said cannot read the drive. Did you purchase a SATA Card off of ebay? If so, which one did you purchase? i have the vt6421a made by Pluscom. I'm hoping the Sata card is just dodgey!

I bought mine off ebay too, works perfect. Have you tried taking the card out and re inserting it and then installing the drivers again, i think it asks when installing them whether you want raid or not?
Try watching this, this is the tut that i followed, Flawless!!!
